In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.

Hello, my friends. It's a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.

It's been a while since we talked about the ability to tag inside of the Gospel Library app. Today, one of my favorite tagged areas, let's talk about it in Proverbs chapter 3. We are reading this week both Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, both sides of the same coin.

Inside of Proverbs chapter 3 here, we get a series of verses, actually, that I have labeled inside of my tagging system inside of the Gospel Library app. I have a tag that's called Life Qualities. And so I like to highlight verses that I feel are verses where I can develop throughout my entire life.

So it's not necessarily a single pursuit for me, but one that I'm trying to increase forever. And then I got another tag that's called Reliance on God. And so this tag I use inside of the Gospel Library app whenever I want to have these scriptures kind of stand out for me that say, remind me to rely on the Lord and His direction.

And so this one, actually, I got a third tag. Let me just explain a third tag. I've got several tags, but this one today, our verse for today, pulls up three tags that I tagged at different times in my scripture study.

The third one that I have is Self-reflection. And what Self-reflection tag means for me personally is an opportunity to kind of look in the mirror. We've talked about in the past some of those checkup from the neck ups, or we've looked at, talked about mirror scriptures.

Self-reflection is a tag for me that says mirror scriptures. So today, the verse that I have today, it's tagged a Life Quality from Allen. It is tagged Reliance on God from Allen.

It is tagged Self-reflection. This one matters to me. And it is a series of verses, but we're only going to pick one.

We're going to pick the first one of the series. So today's verse, Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5, although 5 through 8 is what I've kind of labeled all of those tags. Let's take a look at what 5 says.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. Now, why have I labeled that so many different things for me? Well, if you know me personally, those of you that have met me know me personally, I like to study and know things.

And then other times I just haven't done the research to get that. And so what happens for me then is I get frustrated in my not knowing. So why have I labeled this all three of these tags for me?

This is a reminder to Allen personally to say, hey, you don't have to have the answers. The Bible says. I going to go into this verse: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.

Then what I can do is I can say, 'Look, Lord, I done my best to research this. I just don't know, but I going to trust that this is where you going for me. I going to trust that this is the guidance you giving me.' So, my friends, for me personally, the guy that needs to do the detective work and research and go and know the things, this is a great reminder to bring a book.

Thank you for watching. That one helps Allen a lot. I hope it helps you too.

That's all for today, my friends. You and I have come here for such a time as this. Step forward in faith and let's be Savory Salt. We will be here tomorrow and we hope you are too.
