In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, it's great to have you with me.
Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. It looks like we might finish out our season here in true form with a little bit of shout out to, I don't know, Jeff Costolucci maybe? If you don't know who he is, he's a family favorite of ours.
I'll put a link to one of his YouTube songs from Christmas or something in there. He's a bass singer that we enjoy and it seems right now my voice is going to go double bass on us. So that's how the episode is going to be, but we never miss a day here on Savory Salt.
We have done this now for 724 consecutive episodes, so that makes today 725. Handle the deep voice right now as we take a look inside our readings. We've been focusing this week on our Savior Jesus Christ and on Moroni as we looked in the final chapters here in Moroni, chapters 2 through 8.
We finish up 9 and 10 as we wrap up the end of season 2 and roll into season 3 next week. I wanted to touch base, maybe it's because of the Christmas season right now, maybe it's because of their role in testifying of Jesus Christ. And then he bears testimony that neither miracles nor angels have ceased in any way, shape or form.
And then as we get a little bit further into our reading here, this is what I wanted to focus on in terms of a little bit of a role of what angels do here for us. Our verse for today is Moroni 7:31: "And the office of their ministry is to call men unto repentance and to fulfill and to do the work of the covenants of the Father which he hath made unto the children of men to prepare the way among the children of men by declaring the word of Christ unto the chosen vessels of the Lord that they may bear testimony of him." Now, I've always interpreted the role of angels to bear testimony of Christ and Heavenly Father and their work. I think this cool list here that we get here with calling men to repentance, the interesting one that stuck out to me was the second one here, to fulfill and to do the work of the covenants of the Father, which He hath made.
You know, I can testify that angels have absolutely helped me and my family in keeping our covenants. They have helped us in times of need. They have lifted us when we have been down.
And I'm grateful to the Lord for sending angels to help us. I think sometimes angels can be known to our family, meaning they may be close family members that have passed away or whatever it may be. I think angels can also simply be fulfilling the desires the Lord has to help lift and strengthen those that have made covenants with Him.
Whatever their role has been in your life, I hope that you have an opportunity, especially in this season, to remember the angels in your life and the times that they come. Maybe even angels of just someone that gave you a smile or said hi on a day that you needed a smile or an extra hi. All the way to the level of knowing that you've been lifted during times of challenges.
My friends, I am grateful to the Lord for His angels, for their role in helping us repent, in helping us keep our covenants, in helping to prepare the way for us to be able to truly testify better of Jesus Christ and be among His chosen vessels. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.
Cleave unto the covenants. And together we will be savory salt.
