In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Welcome to the end of our week inside of Doctrine and Covenants Section 19 and 2 Nephi chapters 15 through 18. We're going to finish this week taking a look inside of the Isaiah chapters here.

In 2 Nephi, chapters 17 and 18 is what I read today to finish out the week. Although our verse for today is going to come from 2 Nephi chapter 18. Inside of it, we have a verse that stuck it out to me this time, different than it has in the past.

And maybe it's because of current life conditions, I don't know. Right? I love that!

That the magic of the scriptures, right, is that they can speak to us at different times and in different places, in our own mindsets. Our verse for today is 2 Nephi 18, verse 17. It says, 'And I will wait upon the Lord that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.' I love the two pieces here that come inside of this verse.

One: the patience of waiting upon the Lord. And two: that while he seems to be hiding here, I will continue to look for him. You know, we don't truly understand why blessings seemingly come quickly sometimes, and then seemingly don't come at all other times.

The Lord's time is different than our timing. And sometimes that leaves us wondering, what's going to happen in our current conditions and circumstances? But this verse is an empowering verse for me.

One, it reminds me to wait upon the Lord's time. Now I'm going to regularly ask the Lord for certain things, but I need to have the patience and be willing to wait for his timing and understand, and remember, have faith that his timing is perfect. And then in those moments where it seems like he's hiding, right? 'He hideth his face from the house of Jacob.' I will look for him.

And I love that piece because there are times where while it seems like I'm not getting the answers to the things I'm asking for, or while it seems like the blessings just aren't coming, the patience to wait, but also the willingness to continue to look is a great combination. I can remember specific times in my life where it seemed like we were asking for direction and asking for some insight for a long time. Running out of patience, like a long time.

And yet something that sticks out to me is the willingness that we had to continue to look for Him. And when you hold that lens, I think what can happen there is the Lord can answer those prayers through people and interactions we have, through scriptures that we might be reading, through conference talks we might be studying, if we will but continue to look for Him inside those answers. I love this verse.

This one's one that I can take out of the Isaiah verses and say, 'Hey, I think I get this one.' And even better than getting it, I think I want to apply that regularly in my life. And so my friends, I'll leave you with that thought. Wait upon the Lord, but continue to look for Him always.

You will find Him. He will answer. That's all for today my friends.
