In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Let's talk about winning today. We have spent the week inside of Doctrine and Covenants section 19 as well as 2 Nephi chapters 15 through 18.

And I know we jumped over to the Book of Mormon yesterday. We're going to jump back over to Doctrine and Covenants 19 today. As we share one more thought, Doctrine and Covenants 19 is loaded, and I've been so tempted to just stay there all week, but I want to make sure that we have some representation on both sides.

And so tomorrow we'll come back and wrap up the week with the Book of Mormon. In Doctrine and Covenants section 19 we get a section here after the Lord has declared and talked about repentance and we did the learn of me moment, right? And we talked about that verse, about 25 or so it starts to get into direct commandments that are really quite blunt in terms of commandments from the Lord.

And our verse for today comes inside of this kind of list of things. And it's in Doctrine and Covenants section 19, verse 29. It says, "And thou shalt declare glad tidings, yea, publish it upon the mountains, and upon every high place, and among every people that thou shalt be permitted to see." I love this.

I can talk about specific times in my life where somebody has asked me what my deal is, and not in like a negative way. I remember I was traveling once with a colleague and we were talking and she just was like, "What, what is it about you?" And I said, "What?" And she said, "The whole group, like we all know, there's something, there's something interesting about Allen. There's like a light or a lightness or happiness." And it's interesting because inside of me, I just know in whom I trusted.

Of course not. I've shared those inside of this podcast. But even inside those challenges, I know that the Lord is there.

I know that Jesus Christ has suffered for my sins and my mistakes. I know that as I seek forgiveness and repentance from him, my life becomes better. I know that I'm guided by the Spirit as I live worthy for its promptings.

This is glad tidings. This is great news, and I want to live it. And I love the direct commandment from the Lord here: "that thou shalt declare glad tidings." And where do we do it?

We publish it upon the mountains, upon every high place and among every people that thou shalt be permitted to see. My friends, if you are living the gospel of Jesus Christ, you have glad tidings to share with others. So, share them!

Share your wins! Shout it from the rooftops! Tell others about the light that is in you and share, because you know in whom you have trusted, and that is Jesus Christ.

He is our Savior. He's coming, but until He comes, we will continue to be His hands and feet here on the earth. I love this commandment from the Lord because this is one that I feel like I can do and I can even continue to be better at.

I have glad tidings to share. I want to declare those glad tidings, and I hope you begin in your life a regular practice of declaring the glad tidings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt.
