  • Listeners are encouraged to continue their support by listening, sharing the podcast with friends and family, and leaving reviews on their favorite podcast platforms.
  • Season 2 will follow The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' 2025 "Come Follow Me" curriculum, focusing on daily reflections from the Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and Joseph Smith—History.
  • Allen Roberds commits to also providing pacing for an annual reading of the Book of Mormon during Season 2, ensuring all scripture verses covered will be new and unrepeated from Season 1.
  • The podcast's enduring mission is to help listeners seek greater spiritual savor in their lives and strive to be the 'salt of the earth' as taught in Matthew 5:13.

In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family. Can you believe we made it? Welcome to day 366.

And really, this is just an interim between season one and season two, and we'll get to season two by the end of this episode. But first, what I thought we would do today is cover a couple of things so that you can go back today and look over some of the ones that were meaningful to you. Now, how do I determine meaningful?

Well, I went back and looked into the analytics of all the different places the episodes are posted, right? All the different podcasting platforms. And inside of it, it showed me what episodes are being re-listened to.

Which ones did people go back and listen to again and again? And something that was really exciting for me there was we had over a hundred episodes that people went back to. They had over a 100 listen rate, which means that people didn't just listen the first time; they went back the second time, or they shared it with a friend and held the phone in front of them, or whatever it may be.

And that was exciting to me. So today, as you have an opportunity to go back, perhaps you want to listen to day two. That one was very successful.

Day two was about prayer. Day 29 was about finding others that cheer for you on your team. And that one was pretty popular.

Day 82 was about the growth of the Church during my lifetime. And people got really excited to share that with each other, I guess. Day 160 was about finding solid friends in your life and having good friends.

And then my favorite here, which was pretty cool. The biggest and most listened to episode of the year focused specifically on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. And I love that.

It may not have been my best episode. It may not have been my funnest episode, but I love that the most repeated listened to episode was about the Atonement. The Book of Mormon.

I hope you have an opportunity to go back and enjoy some of your favorite episodes as well. Now, in terms of what you can do and where we're going. First of all, if you've enjoyed Savory Salt in any way, shape or form, I'd encourage you and ask that you would do one of three things here.

As we move into season two, I'd ask that maybe you continue listening to it as we dive in and continue on this path of trying to be a little bit more savory together. The second thing I ask you to do is to share it with your friends and family. I don't get any sort of benefit from this other than the joy in knowing that others are finding the Spirit in their lives at better levels as they dive into this.

So, share it with friends and family. The last thing I might ask you to do is go to your favorite podcast platform wherever it is you're actually getting this information and review this. Throw a little review out there and let other people know that you're listening as well.

Whether you're an international listener that I've never met before or whether you live down the street from me, I'd love any of those three things that you could do to help interact with Savory Salt a little bit. And now we get to season two. What's it going to look like?

Well, I'm going to follow the pacing for 2025 when it comes to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "Come Follow Me." So we will follow the pacing there using Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith—History. We're going to dive into those and I am very excited about it because Doctrine and Covenants has so much of the Lord's direct counsel and instruction to us. The only trick is that Doctrine and Covenants isn't going to take us a year to read.

I mean, it will take a year to go through based on "Come Follow Me" pacing, but it's different. And I'm going to be talking pace with "Come Follow Me" but I'm also going to provide for you pacing for the Book of Mormon to continue to have it in your life and mine. I love the Book of Mormon and I love the strength it provides for me.

And so some days we'll be pacing for Doctrine and Covenants and for Joseph Smith—History and the Pearl of Great Price. And other days will be focused on another annual reading of the Book of Mormon with one promise from me to you. And that is, I will not repeat any of the verses that we have done in season one for Savory Salt.

That's right, all new verses inside of season two. So I hope you join me as we dive into this Doctrine and Covenants mixed with the Book of Mormon throughout the year. I'm excited for it and I'm excited for who I'm going to continue to become as I seek more and more to be savory salt.

That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I will be here tomorrow, the start of season two, and I hope you are too.
