In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success, that ye may be perfect in Christ. Welcome, my friends, to Day 365 out of 365. Today, you and I finish reading the Book of Mormon.

We have done it one day at a time. Small steps bringing great things to pass. I thank you for joining me and I hope today's message leaves you with some inspiration as well as perhaps some news about a possible second season of Savory Salt.

Let's get into our verse for today. Moroni 10 is such a powerful way for Moroni to wrap up all of these writings. Not only does he give us the promise and the challenge that we talked about yesterday, but he goes straight into gifts that come through the Spirit and encourages us to seek those gifts.

And then he wraps up with a very powerful testimony of Jesus Christ. That's where our verse for today comes into play in Moroni 10. It says, "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him; and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind, and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ." The message that I got from the Book of Mormon this year is that come what may, when we lean into and come unto Jesus Christ, we find solace through the grace of God.

We find salvation, we find joy, and we can become perfect through the merits of Jesus Christ. It's such an empowering position to be in. And it reminded me of a section of a book that's one of my favorite books.

I love reading it. It is very, it's a, it's a deep book. Honestly, I call it an afternoon read and a lifetime study because that's what it is to me.

It's a short book and yet it's been written over a hundred years ago. It's called "The Majesty of Calmness." "If you let these irritating outside influences get the better of you, you are confessing your inferiority to them by permitting them to dominate you. Study the disturbing elements, each by itself; bring all the willpower of your nature to bear upon them, and you will find that they will, one by one, melt into nothingness like vapors fading before the sun.

The glow of calmness that will then pervade your mind, the tingling sensation of an inflow of new strength, may be to you the beginning of the revelation of the supreme calmness that is possible for you. Then, in some great hour of your life, when you stand face to face with some awful trial, when the structure of your ambition and life work crumbles in a moment, you will be brave. You can then fold your arms calmly, look out undismayed and undaunted upon the ashes of your hope, upon the wreck of what you have faithfully built, and with brave heart and unfaltering voice you may say, 'So let it be; I will build again!'" I wanted to share that with you, my friends, today because on the rock of Jesus Christ, we can build again.

Whatever the challenges we face, whatever failure we have experienced, whatever sin we have committed in our lives, through Jesus Christ we may be perfected. And by the grace of God, we may stand with Him again one day. I hope that you feel the power of Jesus Christ in your life as you have read the Book of Mormon day by day.

I know I have. I am grateful to this testimony that has been given to us in our day. I hope to continue to use it.

I hope you do as well. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Tomorrow, I'm coming back and what we'll do tomorrow is talk about some of your favorite episodes through the year based on those that have been downloaded and listened to again and again.

And then we'll perhaps tell you a little bit of what season two may look like as Savory Salt continues. That's all for today, my friends. Remember that "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I will be here tomorrow, and I hope you are too.
