In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. Welcome back to day 16.

Yesterday had a great one and I wanted to do verse 17 yesterday, but verse 4 was so good. And so I thought maybe I could connect 17 into another verse today. And that's exactly what I chose to do.

So on your 365-day path, you are going to read 1 Nephi 10:18-22. That's going to finish 1 Nephi 10. And then you're going to read 1 Nephi 11:1-12.

And that is going to put you into this incredible revelatory experience that Nephi has as he is trying to learn and have a testimony for himself the same that his father did. So good stuff inside of our readings today. And today, as much as I want to go into chapter 11, I'm going to do that tomorrow on day 17.

Instead, what we're going to do is get one more verse here in chapter 10. And so the verse for the day today is 1 Nephi 10:19. And this is what Nephi says in verse 19.

He says: "For he that diligently seeketh shall find, and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come." Wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round. Now, this is a really cool scripture because Nephi's telling us all the preparation that he's done to try and understand the things that Lehi, his father, understands through the Lord. He wants to know for himself and he's telling us all that through this eternal round, this one course, that the course of the Lord is one eternal round.

That, look, Revelation is open all the time. It's open in the past, and it's open today, and it's open in the future as well, as he said. And what kind of revelation is open to us?

Well, the very revelation that helps us understand the mysteries of God. And Nephi is about to go into chapter 11 and talk about one of his mysteries for his life. And he's going to see the life of the Savior unfold before his eyes.

And it's going to be quite revealing to him. I love that because it lets us know that we too can seek. Now we have to diligently seek, right?

It says, "he that diligently seeketh shall find." We can diligently seek to know and to understand the mysteries of God and they can be given to us by the power of the Holy Ghost. That's such an empowering thought. This idea that if I am willing to put the time and attention and really put my due diligence in, the Lord's going to help me and is going to unfold the mysteries that I seek to understand in my life.

And guess what? He's doing it for you as well. As you're diving into the scriptures, as you're seeking to understand, if you have specific questions or things that you wonder about, you too can turn to the Lord and diligently seek to understand, and he'll make it available to you.

I love this. This is such an empowering scripture to me. And I'm so excited to dive in tomorrow because then we get to see what this revelatory experience was with Nephi.

And we're going to dive into that tomorrow, so I won't go any further into that. This is an exciting scripture for me today and I hope you can feel the excitement as I talk about it because the mysteries of God are open to all of us that are willing to diligently seek and willing to seek that Holy Ghost in our lives and seek its power to tell us the things that God would have us understand. That's all I have for today.

Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow, and you know that I hope you are too.
