In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.
Hello, my friends. It is a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.
I've got an activity for us today. This one might take some time for you, but could also be very, very quick. So stick with me as we're reading this week Isaiah chapters 13 through 35.
This one kind of has some connection before I get to the verse for today so that you kind of understand where my framing is here. "Preach My Gospel." And so she prepares lessons that kind of help all the family kind of get focused. And her lesson this past week here was focused on optimism, on seeing the bright, on the good, on positivity, and on a focus there of gratitude to Heavenly Father. I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name, for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Yes, this is just kind of a moment of exclamation. The Bible says the Bible needs to be overly explained. So today, if you are willing, and maybe even over the next couple of days, take an opportunity through this verse. "I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name, for thou hast done wonderful things." My friends, what wonderful things has the Lord done for you, not just today but in your life?
Open up a sheet of paper, open up your phone to the notepad, turn on the voice recorder, whatever it is. Begin making your list and don't stop on that list until you think you got everything that you possibly could see of the wonderful things that the Lord has done for you. The fun thing about that list, my friends, as you do this activity is the more you make the list, the more the list will make itself.
Give it a shot. See how it works. I am grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ.
I am grateful for all that he has given me in my life, and I'm going to take an opportunity right now to get on my list. That's all for today, my friends. You and I have come here for such a time as this.
Step forward in faith and let's be savory salt. We will be here tomorrow with your list and we hope you are too.
