Allen Roberds reflects on Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths," exploring the profound wisdom of trusting God's divine guidance. This episode delves into what it means to truly acknowledge God and align with the Lord's perfect timing, even when our own paths seem clearer.

Key Points

  • Proverbs 3:6 teaches that acknowledging God in all aspects of our lives is essential for Him to direct our paths.
  • To 'acknowledge' God means to accept, admit, and recognize His existence, truth, and supreme importance in our decisions.
  • Trusting in the Lord's timing is a critical aspect of acknowledging Him, understanding that what appears as a 'no' from God might actually be 'not yet'.
  • God's purpose in directing our paths is always to help us develop into the best version of ourselves, even through challenging circumstances.

We all have our trials where we feel like we should not obey the Lord's timing and that our timing is better. But He is truly there to direct our paths. He is trying to help us be the best version of us.

In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.

Hello my friends, it's a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. I'm back on Savory Salt and happy to be here.

We are not sharing the mic this time, so it's just me. I hope you liked that episode. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back and listen to Savory Salt.

It was an awesome episode. Anyway, I was reading through, and I was like do-do-do-do-do, and then something happened, and I was like, do-do-do-do-do. And then I was like, you know what, we've got to share this because it's awesome.

And it's a really important concept. So yesterday, my dad talked about the Lord's timing. And I'm going to kind of build on that today.

So if you didn't listen to it yesterday, go back and listen to it because he did an amazing job. Shout out to my daddy. So we are going back to Proverbs, and we are going back to chapter 3 as well, and we are going to go to verse 6.

So much farther than where we last were in Proverbs, I know, but it's a really good verse, and I have a really important thing to say about it. So here we go. Let's dive right into it.

Verse 6 says this: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Holy guacamole, there's so much packed in that. We could spend all day talking about this.

Acknowledge him, and he shall literally direct your paths. He shall tell you where you shall go. So I went in, and I was like, okay, so what does acknowledge actually mean?

So I just pulled it up on a dictionary, and it says this: To accept or admit the existence or truth of. To recognize the fact or importance of. So acknowledge is pretty much saying you're recognizing it.

You shouldn't be doing that. And that's okay. We need to accept that.

I had a recent experience where I didn't want to do the Lord's timing, and it was really hard. And eventually, I did figure out that I should do the Lord's timing and accept what He was trying to tell me. And because I think it's really interesting.

So the section says this: The Bible says that when you have faith in the Lord's timing, you're on the right track. And one day when you witness certain blessings in your life, you may find that when you thought the universe was telling you no, it may have just been Heavenly Father telling you not yet. So at the beginning of this thingy, it was talking about how she really wanted to get this job.

And she decided to wait a little bit longer until her college classes stopped, and then the job was filled by the time she applied for it. And so she was talking about how then she started going through and getting better at this particular skill. And then the chance came again, and it turns out she needed all of those extra skills she learned in The story of this woman in a dream.

We all have our trials where we feel like we should not obey the Lord's timing and that our timing is better. But He is truly there to direct our paths. He is trying to help us be the best version of us.

That's all for today, my friends. You and I have come here for such a time as this. Step forward in faith, and let's be savory salt.

We will be here tomorrow. We hope you are too.
