3.232 Remember and Turn

In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.

Hello, my friends. It is a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.

Can I just talk about hope for just a second? Hope, my daughter, that is, not necessarily hope as in like faith, hope, and charity. But I got to tell you, if you did not listen to yesterday's episode with Hope, take an opportunity to do so as she talks about the power of gratitude and gratitude journals in her own life.

And I got to just tell you: A couple of days before her recording this, I ended up helping some family in an emergency room. I was there overnight, got home about four in the morning, immediately, you know, got some rest, but then got up and went to work and spent the day at work. And I was exhausted coming home.

And I typically spend some evening time recording these episodes. But it was when I got home, Hope came to greet me, and she just had this huge smile on her face. She said, "Dad, don't worry, I got an episode.

I take care of it. I prepared for it." And she does an amazing job bearing her testimony. And I love that she takes the time to share from her lens.

That's exactly the point of Savory Salt. So, my friends, I hope that what Savory Salt is for you is an opportunity to simply increase your relationship with the scriptures, your relationship with living prophets and apostles, and increase ultimately your relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. That's the point of Savory Salt.

And I think if I'm most happy about where Savory Salt is, it is that I see Hope applying in her life as I've wanted originally for this to be something for my own children and for my family to have going forward into, you know, the days of posterity ahead, right? So, so great if you didn't listen yesterday to her Psalm 8 verses, I want you to be able to take some time to go do that. Now, that's a long intro for today, but you had to understand the context of Hope.

She is an instrumental part of Savory Salt. She is the producer. She handles the editing.

She handles the posting. She handles all the things. And I just basically share a thought here and there, and then she jumps in and does it when I can or does it when she feels inspired to do so.

And that was the situation past couple of days. So grateful for her. And I hope that those episodes with her are uplifting for you.

Now, in terms of our verse for today and where we're headed, we get into a sample of a lament that we started off the week. I shared my one of my first attempts at a lament psalm. We get one in Psalm 22 as one of David's laments.

It's an extended version of the one that I shared for you earlier, right? Mine was just my lens of the world in a shortened version. This one's an extended version as it kind of goes into 31 verses.

But the verse I want to select today is Psalm 22 verse 27. It says, "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord, and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee." What an amazing promise, prophecy, whatever term you want to use. I can imagine a time when the world turns to Jesus Christ, what it might look like.

Now you might say that I have an overactive imagination and maybe I'm seeing the world through some rose-colored lenses and that's okay. But my friends, I've seen what turning to Jesus Christ has done in my life. I see often when I remember and turn to the Lord, I see what Jesus Christ has done in my life.

I'm grateful for this phrase here because I look forward to the day across the world. And, mind you, Savory Salt has been to 86 different countries. The word of the Lord is available to us.

What does it look like in your life to remember and turn to the Lord? Now maybe you say, Allen, I'm already doing those things. But whenever we take an opportunity here with Savory Salt, we're talking about taking another step.

So what does it mean today, here and now, for you and for me to remember and turn unto the Lord? I hope we've got another gear we could shift into here. Another step we could take.
