3.015 There is an Order to Creation
Show Notes
This Savory Salt episode delves into Moses 3:5, revealing the profound principle that God created all things spiritually before they were naturally upon the earth. Allen Roberds explains how understanding this divine order of creation can empower listeners to intentionally shape their personal future by first envisioning their goals spiritually before bringing them into temporal reality.
Key Points
- God established an inherent order of creation, first creating all things spiritually before they manifested naturally on earth, as revealed in Moses 3:5.
- The divine pattern suggests that all inventions and creations, from physical objects to personal life goals, originate as spiritual ideas within the mind.
- Listeners are encouraged to apply this principle by first clarifying their future aspirations and important life decisions spiritually before attempting to achieve them temporally.
- Understanding this 'spiritual-first' order of creation helps individuals avoid trying to create things in reverse, thereby enabling a more effective and purposeful creative process in their own lives.
- By aligning with God's demonstrated creative process, individuals can purposefully shape their future by first visualizing and defining what they want to accomplish in their minds spiritually.
There is an order to creation, and the Lord has shown us that first all things must be created spiritually before they're created naturally.

In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as savory salt.
Hello my friends. It's a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you'll serve.
How about a personal growth lesson from our Heavenly Father? We're reading this week Genesis chapters 1 and 2, Moses chapters 2 and 3, and Abraham chapters 4 through 5. And although each one of them are mostly the same in terms of what their messages are, we're going to slide into Moses to get our verse.
The Bible reference for today rather than looking at Genesis. In Moses, we get an interesting insight in chapter 3 that again, I think is a bit of a message on the personal development side of things for us. And yes, that can include spiritual development as well.
As many people see their spiritual development as personal development, I see them as two separate ideas. But that's okay. Let's take a look at the verse here and see what we can learn from our Heavenly Father.
The verse is Moses 3 verse 5, and it is the middle of a sentence. So verse 4 is the beginning of that sentence. Verse 6 wraps that sentence up.
But we're going to focus on verse 5. It says: "In every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all things of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth.
For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all of the children of men; and not yet a man to till the ground; for in heaven created I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air." Now you might be saying, "Allen, I'm not sure where this one's going this week." Today, I'm not sure if you're on track. Here's the sentence that I want to emphasize inside of this.
Did you notice how the Lord created? He created first spiritually all things before they were naturally, or as we would say, temporally on the earth. That's an important distinction, and I think it's one that each one of us can take it to our own lives.
Especially with us being like our heavenly parents. We too are creators. Thank you for watching.
But do you buy into the idea that you can actually create your future? Perhaps one of the stages you're missing inside of that is the idea of creating it spiritually before you create it temporally. Now you might be saying, "Allen, I don't know, this one's getting a little woo-woo here." And that's okay.
But here's—here's the idea. I don't think there's anything that has been invented or created on earth that wasn't first invented or created spiritually. Here's what I mean by that.
If you were to look around your room right now, anything you see inside your room, I'm looking right now at my desk, I'm looking at my computer in front of me, I'm looking at a keyboard, right? I've got my microphone right here. All of these things were created spiritually.
They were created in someone's mind before they were created temporally. The idea had to spawn inside someone's mind. And so for you and for me, when we're thinking about our future and what we want it to look like, we first have to get clear spiritually what that's going to be.
So whether it's, I don't know, looking for a spouse; whether it's deciding about whether to go to college or a mission; whether it's whether we live in this city over here or that city over there—these decisions that come into our lives actually need to be flushed out spiritually before they're flushed out temporally. We'll be right back. Sometimes we may find ourselves trying to create things in reverse order, and we just can't seem to get it done.
And the reason for that is we don't know exactly what it is we're creating. So my friends, I think we can take a lesson from our Heavenly Father here and take time to decide in your mind, spiritually, what it is you want to accomplish. What it is you want your future to look like.
What is it you want to create for your life going forward? Once you've created that spiritually, it then opens the door for you to continue in the creative process as our Heavenly Father has shown us and create those things temporally as well. I love this idea.
This one's one of my favorite ones in terms of the creation because it shows us part of the process of creating things in our own lives. There is an order to creation, and the Lord has shown us that first all things must be created spiritually before they're created naturally. That's all for today, my friends.
Maybe a little too woo-woo for some of you, but I hope you can come back and listen to this one and maybe grasp the idea of it. You and I have come here for such a time as this. Step forward in faith and let's be savory salt. We will be here tomorrow, and we hope you are too.
