In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, it's great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Are you merry? Are you happy?

Are you joyful? It's part of the gospel plan. I've got a challenge for you today.

I hope you'll take me up on it. This one's going to be pretty short actually because the challenge may take you a second. We're reading this week Doctrine and Covenants, sections 135 through 136, as well as Mormon, chapter 7 through Ether, chapter 2.

We're going to do one more thought inside of Doctrine and Covenants section 136 here. We know that the Saints are dealing with great difficulties. And then we have this chunk through here where the Lord is telling Brigham Young these like micro power statements for the Saints.

Each one of these verses can actually be kind of its own statement of awesomeness. I don't know how else to describe it. But what we're going to look at here is verse 28 is going to be our verse.

If you are on the other side of the coin of verse 28, just read verse 29. It should help you out there. Verse 28 says, If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

I love this verse because there are absolutely times where we are facing challenges in our. The challenge I have for you, whether you're feeling good or not, I want you to think about one of your favorite songs that helps you praise the Lord, helps you feel merry, helps you feel good, maybe even gives you the feeling to dance a little bit. And I promise you, I am not a dancer, so don't, don't get me wrong here.

I'm an awful dancer, but there are songs that you just smile to. I'm going to add mine inside of this podcast episode. So, you're welcome to click on the link here.

You'll just click on the link that says, "It's one of my favorites." You can go and listen to that. But today, think of that song that lifts you up. Think of that song that just makes you feel happy and praise the Lord.

And then I want you to share the song. I don't care if you share it on social media. I don't care if you share it with just a single friend.

The whole plan of salvation is called the plan of happiness. And if you are merry, praise the Lord. Do it with singing, and music, and dancing, and a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

Today I sing my praises to the Lord. Today I'm dancing with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving, and I hope you can do so as well. Let's share it with as many people as we can today.

The challenge is now yours. It's on. Share your favorite songs and praise the Lord.

That's all for today my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt. Subtitles by the Amara.org community
