In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, it's great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. The day will come that you shall see God. What an amazing promise as we continue reading our Doctrine and Covenants section 88 this week, as well as Alma chapters 48 through 52.

We're not going to get too far from yesterday's reading in Doctrine and Covenants. We're only going to go a couple of verses down here. We're going to take a look at a promise to see God.

We're going to go down a little bit of a rabbit hole if you could follow me just a little bit. But let's get straight to it and take a look at it. It's Doctrine and Covenants section 88, verse 68, and it says this: Therefore sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God and the days will come that you shall see him for he will unveil his face unto you and it shall be in his own time and in his own way and according to his own will.

Now, but did you catch the promise in there? The Lord will unveil himself. Think of the times in the scriptures that we've heard that type of terminology.

When the brother of Jared saw the finger of the Lord through the veil. These are moments where prophets, apostles, and others are witnessing the Lord for who he truly is. So how do we get there?

Well, we sanctify ourselves that our minds become single to God. Now, mind is an interesting word. Do you remember we got that earlier this week?

When we were in Alma, Moroni had been spending his time preparing the minds to be faithful. This is interesting because if you follow the footnote of the word "mind" here (or "minds" as it is plural in verse 68), you go to the Topical Guide, and one of the terms it uses is "intelligence." Now if that didn't spark anything, let's continue down the rabbit hole. If another word for mind is your intelligence, do you remember what Abraham called all of us from pre-mortal days in Abraham chapter 3?

He saw God. And that one for me is one that stands out. May you and I sanctify ourselves that our minds become single to God.

And by doing so we then will see his face. What a beautiful promise! This is a short one today because it could take some time for you to dig in.

I'll let you go down your own rabbit holes on this one. But I hope that you and I have an opportunity to really think into what it means to sanctify ourselves, that our minds or our intelligence may become single to God. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave to the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt. We'll see you next time.
