In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, it's great to have you with me.

Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Today, an awesome opportunity for some forgiveness from the Lord. We're reading this week Doctrine and Covenants section 84, which is an incredible section on the priesthood of God.

We're also reading this week Alma chapters 39 through 42. We will get back to those chapters eventually. But there's so much inside of Doctrine and Covenants 84, it is so hard to try and pick and choose.

But today's verse stood out to me for a personal reason. I'm not going to advocate that these are the steps of repentance by any means, nor will I say that this one thing is the only thing that is needed for forgiveness from Heavenly Father. But today's verse spoke to me in a way that brought several memories and maybe even a little bit of emotion, if I'm being honest.

Our verse for today is Doctrine and Covenants section 84, verse 61. It says, "For I will forgive you of your sins with this commandment." Okay, so there's a—there's a—I'm going to forgive you your sins with this in mind: "That you remain steadfast in your minds in solemnity and the spirit of prayer, in bearing testimony to all the world of those things which are communicated unto you." Now, did you catch that path to forgiveness, focused on the solemnity and spirit of prayer? What are you praying for?

You're praying to bear testimony to all the world of the things that you learned, the things that have been communicated to you. My friends, I love the idea. I love the promise here.

I love the commandment, is what it is, that the Lord's giving us to bear our testimony to the world of the things that we're learning and through it find forgiveness in Him. What an amazing opportunity. It's a chance for us to share the love and the spirit that we're feeling.

To share our hearts that are full with the people that we love, with all the world. Our missionary work today is going forward at an amazing accelerated pace. And I can see part of this calling that the Lord is providing and saying, "Look, preach it to the world." And there are so many in the world that are saying, "I'm ready for this!

I believe this!" And then they're turning to their friends and family and saying, "You've got to have this too in your life!" I'm so grateful that the Lord offers us a path of forgiveness. I know I can find forgiveness in my own heart for others in my life. And so I'm grateful for the example the Lord provides me to forgive others.

And I'm grateful that through bearing my testimony of the things that I'm learning, the Lord provides a path for me to find forgiveness as well. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive and be forgiven by the Lord as well. That's my hope and prayer for you today.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be Savory Salt.
