In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, it's great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. This is the gospel, the glad tidings. This week we've been reading Doctrine and Covenants section 76 as well as Alma chapters 25 through 28.

We've really focused instead of 76 being on the kingdoms as is typically seen with 76, we've really focused on the emphasis of it being on Christ and on a few ways that we can use the Spirit to better understand. I want to share one more verse inside of Doctrine and Covenants section 76. And again, as I mentioned earlier in the week, I'm not going to focus on the different glories, the different kingdoms.

I'm going to let you find what's there through your own personal study. Instead, we're going to look at the glad tidings, the gospel. We are told in verse 40 that 'this is the gospel, the glad tidings,' and then we're told what it is.

What are the glad tidings? Before we get to the verse, I think it's interesting that when people share their 'I know the gospel is true,' I think a lot of times people hear different things when they hear the word gospel. They hear different interpretations.

Is the gospel the church on the earth? Is the gospel... like, what is it? What's the good news?

What are the glad tidings? And here in verses 40, 41, 42, 43, we really have clarity around the glad tidings. What are the glad tidings?

So, in 40, it says, 'This is the gospel, the glad tidings.' 41 says that he came into the world, even Jesus, to be crucified for the world and to bear the sins of the world and to sanctify the world and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness. Now, if you could give good news to anybody, how about the good news of sanctification and cleanliness? There's so much around us that is... 'dirty' is not even the right word, right?

It's just not sanctified. And here the good news is that Christ came to bear our sins for the world, to sanctify it and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness. My friends, the message in Doctrine and Covenants 76 is for everyone.

The gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news, the good tidings, the glad tidings is that Christ came. He actually lives; he has done the Atonement for us. I know that the energy from your testimony matches that of the glad tidings—that we can be sanctified and cleansed through Jesus Christ.

I know that for me, a man that struggles in my own different challenges, sins, temptations, all the imperfections that I have, I hear this news and I say thank you to a loving Heavenly Father. This truly is glad tidings to me, to my family, to my loved ones. I hope it is glad tidings to you as well.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt. For more information, visit us at www.savorysalt.org.
