In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, it's great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. I've got a quick question on the front end of today. What if Jesus Christ comes tomorrow?

We have been reading this week Doctrine and Covenants sections 64 through 66 as well as Alma chapters 11 through 15. Today we're going to take a look in Doctrine and Covenants section 65, and that question on the front end of the podcast is worth some time today. And I think there's some questions that are a follow-up to that that are worth even more time and attention as we take a look at our verses today.

We're going to look at Doctrine and Covenants section 65 verse 5. It says this, Names of the Gospel of the Lord come down in heaven clothed in the brightness of his glory to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth. Now there's a lot inside of there.

What's it saying? Initially it just says Call upon the Lord, right? That's a reminder to pray until you look at the things that we're.

I know that me and my family have prayed more with our daughter out in her missionary field. We've prayed more for the missionary work going forward. But it's interesting, that second part here that says that the inhabitants thereof may receive it.

Our family is praying more and more, yes, for our missionary and our nieces and nephews that are out serving as well, and our family and friends. We have missionaries that are out. We're praying for them by name every day and every night.

But we're also praying for those that they're teaching, that they may receive it. We're praying that their hearts and minds may be turned to the Lord. And he also says, Call upon the Lord and be prepared for the days to come in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven.

This is that key question I started the podcast with. What if Christ comes tomorrow? What would happen in our lives?

There's a talk by President Oaks from 2004 that speaks directly into that. President Oaks gave a talk in 2004 called "Preparation for the Second Coming." I make sure that you have the link inside the podcast episode. And near the tail end of the talk he gives this question as well as several other questions worth thinking into today for me and for you.

Perhaps even a bit of meditation and personal revelation coming here. He says, "What testimonies would we bear? If we would do those things then, why not now?

Why not seek peace while peace can be obtained? If our lamps of preparation are drawn down, let us start immediately to replenish them." My friends, there are so many great questions inside of there. If you knew that Christ was coming tomorrow, what would you stop doing today that you are currently doing?

What would you start doing today that you are currently not doing? What would you do more of? What would you do less of?

What relationships would you seek to make better? These are some core questions and they come all around the idea of Christ coming. I love verse 5 as a reminder for us to Call upon the Lord, not just to build the kingdom, but to be prepared for the days to come.

And be prepared for that day in which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in brightness of his glory. That is a day worth looking forward to. And I hope that you and I can prepare more today for it, just in case it happens to be tomorrow that it comes.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave into the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt.
