In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. We've got a celebration to begin today's episode.

It actually occurred yesterday, but I hadn't run the numbers yet. And so the celebration comes today. And that is this.

Savory Salt has now crossed over 20,000 downloads from you and everyone else that listens to Savory Salt. That's so much fun. Thank you for the downloads.

Thank you for listening. There is no call to action inside this podcast other than to have you engage in the Scriptures and increase your relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Well done and much gratitude.

Thank you for sharing it to friends and family and thanks for passing it along. This has now spanned the globe, and that's exciting for me. I love that, and I appreciate you, especially those of you that listen day to day.

Some of you reach out to me and email me, text me. Thank you for that. I love it.

I love you guys, and I appreciate that. With that being said, we have a heavy load of reading for us through this week. Remember Doctrine and Covenants sections 30 through 36, as well as Jacob 5 through 7 and the book of Enos.

We're going to dive into our verse for today, and that is Doctrine and Covenants section 31 is what we're going to be looking at. And before we get to the verse, I just want to, again, I mentioned this yesterday, but I just want to suggest again for you that are listening, that you use the Come Follow Me materials to dive into the readings this week. The reason for that is there's some great additional material on some of these specific members of the church.

There's a reading on Thomas B. Marsh that gives you some great insight and framing on who this man is, what he's experiencing in his life, the difficulties, the challenges, the faith, all the things. So that being said, let's dive into Doctrine and Covenants section 31, which is a revelation to Thomas B.

Marsh. And we're going to look at verse 2. In verse 2 it says, Behold, you have had many afflictions because of your family; nevertheless, I will bless you and your family, yea, your little ones.

And the day cometh that they will believe and know the truth and be one with you in my church. This one I don't talk about much very often inside Savory Salt, and the reason for it is because of how emotional I get. But this one talks directly to my heart as a parent.

I'm a father of four amazing girls who I love and adore, and I can only imagine the Lord coming and talking to me and saying, 'Hey, I know that you had afflictions in your family, but I'm going to bless you and your family.' My friends, there's nothing more in this life that I want than for my family members to know God and Jesus Christ, to make covenants with our Heavenly Father in holy temples, and to experience the joy and the love that that relationship can bring into their lives. There's nothing more that I want. And this verse is such an amazing verse.

I can just imagine being Thomas B. Marsh and thinking about all the chaos and all the family nutsoid that's going on. And then having the Lord say, 'Hey, not only am I going to bless you, but through your covenant keeping, I'm going to bless your family and your little ones.

They're going to know the truth and be one with you.' We'll be right back. But wait, I don't have any kids. That's okay, because this can speak to you and your family.

Maybe you got aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren. Maybe your children, you have grandchildren. I don't know, whoever it is in your family, the Lord is speaking to you as well.

Keep your covenants with him that you have made, and let the Lord work. I love this one in my life because of how dear my own girls are to me. I love them.

And since I didn't mention it, I got to mention it for sure. How much my wife has played a role in that relationship with me and my girls. We truly are seeking to be a happy family.

And I hope you experience that as well as you seek to lift each other inside the covenants you've made with the Lord. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.

Cleave into the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt. For more information, visit us at www.fema.org.
