2.92 I WIll Reveal Myself From Heaven With Power

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. I am so excited to dive into our reading for today.

And as I kind of warned you this week, we didn't get very far from yesterday. So we've done Verse 2, we've done Verse 6 of Doctrine and Covenants Section 29. Now we're going to blow all the way ahead to Verse 11.

I'm sorry. I promise we will get through Doctrine and Covenants 29, but these verses just stand out to me and they say so much and so I'm excited to share it with you. Remember that even though Doctrine and Covenants 29 is our single section for the Doctrine and Covenants this week, we're also reading 2 Nephi Chapter 33 and Jacob Chapters 1 through 4.

So keep that in mind as you're pacing your readings this week. Let's look at this verse, Doctrine and Covenants Section 29, Verse 11. See what it has to say and see the excitement around it, because I love this one and it gets me all excited.

The verses following it get me fired up as well. It says in Verse 11: "For I"—remember, this is the Lord Jesus Christ speaking, right? This is right at the beginning of that.

He says, "This is me speaking: For I will reveal myself from heaven with power and great glory, with all the hosts thereof, and dwell in righteousness with men on earth a thousand years; and the wicked shall not stand." Now, what is it about this verse that I love? I love that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes in a literal return of Jesus Christ, our Savior, to the earth. He is resurrected.

We believe in a literal resurrection of Jesus Christ that He lives today. And we believe that when we talk about the Second Coming of Christ, He literally—I keep saying this a lot because it's different for a lot of different beliefs and a lot of different sects of Christianity—we believe He will literally reign on the earth again. Here He says it Himself.

He will come again and dwell in righteousness. And I love this because our prophets and apostles speak about this and they speak directly about it. One of my favorite articles snuck in.

I've spoken about it before and maybe at some point I'll just quote the entire thing, but there's so many great sections in it. In April of 2020, President Nelson put an article in the Ensign at the time (now the Liahona), but in the Ensign at the time, April of 2020, he talked directly about the future of the Church in preparing for the Coming of Jesus Christ. It is so phenomenal.

I will put a link in it again here. I'm going to reference a different section than I did before last year. In it he talks about the Second Coming.

And this is what he says: "The Lord will return to the land that He made holy by His mission there in mortality. In triumph He will come again to Jerusalem. In royal robes of red to symbolize His blood, which oozed from every pore, He shall return to the holy city.

There and elsewhere the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. He will govern from two world capitals, one in Old Jerusalem and the other in the New Jerusalem, built upon the American continent.

From these centers He will direct the affairs of His Church and kingdom. Another temple will yet be built in Jerusalem. From that temple He shall reign forever as Lord of Lords.

Water will issue from under the temple. Waters of the Dead Sea will be healed. In that day He will bear new titles and be surrounded by special saints.

He will be known as the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, and they that will be with Him will be those who are called and chosen and faithful to their trust here in mortality. Then He shall reign forever and ever. The earth will be returned to its paradisiacal state and be made new.

There will be a new heaven and a new earth. It is our charge. It is our privilege to help prepare the world for that day." My friends, do you get fired up around that, or what?

I am so excited to have a living prophet testify of the Coming of Jesus Christ and testify in a way that lets us know it is imminent. It is time for us to stand. It is time for us to be numbered among His followers.

I love this work. I love the testimony we receive both in Doctrine and Covenants and from living prophets. I am so excited to be part of it.
