In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. We continue our reading this week inside of Doctrine and Covenants sections 27 and 28, as well as 2 Nephi chapters 28 to 32.

Can I just mention, well done diving into this process. We are 84 days into our second season here. You have been reading the Book of Mormon.

Mormon every day. You've been reading Doctrine and Covenants every day now in the second season. So well done diving into this.

And this one, I think, feeds into our message for today, our verse for today. It comes inside of the tail end of Doctrine and Covenants, Section 27. It's after the Lord talks about all of these ancient prophets that are going to come and partake of the sacrament when he comes again.

Kind of a cool prophecy there, kind of a cool advance notice for all of us as we look at that. And then we're going to get a reminder for us today as we look at Doctrine and Covenants Section 27, verse 15. This shouldn't be new for us necessarily, but it's a great reminder for us and maybe a new point of view as we look at it.

It says this: "Wherefore lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand." And then it continues moving on. Now we've heard about the Armor of God, or at least most of us have, right? It comes inside the New Testament.

We talk about putting on the whole Armor of God and we have the different aspects of the whole Armor of God here as we look at this. The interesting thing that stuck out to me this time was my whole armor. You know, if you were to think about this in a physical sense, if you got called to war today and you needed to prepare yourself for that, what would your list look like?

What would the checklist look like? Would you want body armor? Would you want ammunition, right?

Like bullets and a gun or a weapon? Or would you want a helmet of any sort? Would you want goggles?

Would, like, do you want boots that are going to last? Like, think about all the things that you want to go into battle. It's not just one thing.

And so when we talk about the Armor of God, the Armor of God is not just one thing either. There's components of it, there's aspects of it, and each thing that we take into our lives with the Spirit and from our Heavenly Father becomes an aspect of the whole Armor of God. So then let's take this from a physical sense to a spiritual sense for a second.

If you were called into spiritual battle today, what would be on your checklist? What aspects of spiritual armor do you want to make sure that you have? Now that's a conversation between you and the Spirit.

Now you could dive in and keep reading verses 16, 17, 18 and you'll get some answers there, but they may not be your answers through what the Spirit's telling you to do. What aspects of the whole Armor of God if we choose to accept it in our lives. So today's an awesome opportunity for you to sit down and say, I'm headed into spiritual battle.

What aspects of my spiritual armor do I want to make sure that I have put on me as I go into that battle? Definitely worth your time and attention to get that list together and decide what aspects you want to improve in your life today. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt. Thank you for watching.
