In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Welcome to an exciting new week, as it appears that we take a little bit of a breather in terms of the pacing.

This week, we shift from reading five or six different sections to Doctrine and Covenants to focusing on just one. And I'm excited for that. Inside of Doctrine and Covenants section 18, that will be our Doctrine and Covenants side of things this week.

And then our Book of Mormon reading will be 2 Nephi chapters 10 through 14, as we dive into a few of the Isaiah chapters coming ahead. So look forward to that as well. I'm excited to take some verses outside of Doctrine and Covenants section 18 because really there are some pivotal scripture mastery-type style verses inside of here, and an opportunity for us to focus in on them.

Exciting thing to see that Doctrine and Covenants 18, as it mentions in the heading here, is this is where we receive instructions to have the calling of the 12 Apostles in the current Church, right? So this is part of that restoration that's going forward as we talk about the Lord fully restoring his gospel. Inside of 18, we find, not by name, but we find the idea that it's time to call again 12 Apostles for Jesus Christ to represent him on the earth.

So super exciting inside of this section as we dive in. Our verse for today comes with a small activity associated with it, and then I'll let you get to the activity. We're going to look at Doctrine and Covenants section 18, verse 2, and this is the Lord talking directly to Oliver Cowdery, and he says in verse 2, "Behold I have manifested unto you by My Spirit in many instances that the things which you have written are true.

Wherefore, you know that they are true." I love this verse. This is the Lord reminding Oliver, "Hey, you had spiritual experiences, and you know that they're real." So, my friends, the activity today is quite simple, and yet could take you as long as you want it to take you. I sat down and kind of did this activity myself, and I thought, "My goodness, I could sit inside of this for quite some time," and maybe I continue doing that through the.

I'm going to be talking about the Bible this week, quite honestly, but I want you to sit down and consider: when has the Lord manifested unto you by His Spirit that the things that you are doing are true? That could be activities that you've chosen to include in your life. That could be scriptures that you've read and had a strong testimony of.

That could be times where you've experienced perhaps a deep spiritual impression. Take an opportunity today and write those down. And you can write them down at whatever level of detail or complexity you choose.

So maybe you could just bullet point it out, or maybe you choose one to just write specifically what happened in that instance. I love the Spirit that I felt again as I sat down and did this, from experiences in my own life, because it reaffirms to me that the times I have felt the Spirit in my life are real. The Spirit speaks to you and I.

We have an opportunity to have it in our lives every day. And so showing the Lord that we remember those times, we're grateful for them, and we believe that they are true in our lives, gives us an opportunity to increase that Spirit, feel it more, and have more impressions. I'm excited for what this activity will bring for you today, and I will let you get to it to remember the times the Lord has manifested unto you by His Spirit, the things which are true.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt.
