In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Thank you, my friends, for choosing Savory Salt today.

Or perhaps I should start out with a question. Did you choose to listen to Savory Salt today? That's our line of thinking inside of our little bit of tennis as we play this week.

We've gone 2 Nephi chapter 1, and then we went Doctrine and Covenants section 10. Guess where we're headed? We're going over to 2 Nephi chapter 2 today.

So a little bit of this tennis match back and forth and back and forth. We're going to take a look. I love how these chapters and sections work together in my mind, and I hope they're coming across as I share that with you daily.

I hope it's making sense as we go. Yesterday we talked about the desire to pray, "Ye May Conquer Satan," right? And what we established inside of there is really kind of interesting because we now have inside of here that there are two sides.

And I think that's very important to see here. And I think Nephi is going to teach us a little bit more about that in our verse for today. Let's take a look at the verse and see what we mean by this.

Our verse is in 2 Nephi 2:16. Chapter 2 is a very doctrinal chapter, great for the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and I love that aspect of it, but also great for teaching opposition and choice. And that's what 16 dives into a little bit.

It says this, He too can entice us. All right, so my friends, today, as I mentioned at the beginning of this episode, what's your choice for Jesus Christ today? What choices are you actually making to follow Jesus Christ today?

Not the automatic ones. You know, we learned from science that all of us make somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 or 35,000 different decisions every day. Most of them are subconscious.

We don't even realize we're making decisions. We make up to like 150 or 200 food decisions every day. I mean, it's fascinating the number of choices we actually make, and we don't even realize we're doing it.

And my friends, I would ask today what your intentional choice is. We're going to stack back to back to back to let the Lord know that you choose Him. Today I choose the Lord.

I choose to stand with Him, but that also means that I'm going to make other decisions that are followed up from the enticements of Jesus Christ. I want the Holy Ghost in my life. I want Jesus Christ in my life, and my choices, I want to mirror that.

So as we learn from Nephi today, remember my friends that we absolutely have the power to choose, but that automatically means that there are choices and options in front of us in order to choose. One of those options being Christ's plan, the other being Satan's plan, both being allowed to entice us along the path. I hope that you and I today can take an opportunity to intentionally choose Jesus Christ.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your heart and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt.
