In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Today my friends, a shout out to the seminary and institute teachers around the world. Whether you do it as employment or you do it as a calling, thank you.

And for those of you listening today, find a seminary teacher and give them a shout out. Let's dive in and see what we've got today in terms of our readings. We've been diving into Doctrine and Covenants sections 10 and 11, as well as 2 Nephi 1 through 4.

We threw a little bit of a curveball yesterday inside of 2 Nephi 1. This week we're going to shift gears back over to Doctrine and Covenants. So again, forgive me, I hope it works for savory salt reasons, but we're going to be bouncing back and forth throughout the week.

We will dive into Doctrine and Covenants Section 10 today. Okay, we find out some vital information inside of Sections 10 and 11. Section 10 especially lets us know that there is an existence of Satan.

There is evil. It is real. It's not something that's just pretend or made up in the world.

And we get some incredible tools to help combat that evil in the world. Let's take a look at our verse for today in Doctrine and Covenants Section 10, verse 5. In verse 5 it says this: "Pray always that you may come off conqueror, yea, that you may conquer Satan, and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work." Now the reason this one's a shout out to the seminary teachers of the world and maybe somehow some way this finds the ears of Sister Terri.

I know she's not named Sister Terri anymore because she ended up getting married later after I was in her class but Sister Terri, if this finds your ears, thank you. Thank you for being who you are and bringing the Spirit in your class. You see, I had Sister Terri back in high school.

In fact, I didn't even have her as a teacher. She was in the seminary building, and my friends had her as a teacher. And I heard that she was so cool and so amazing that I needed to just see who she was.

I can remember her sharing this scripture. This is like a scripture mastery scripture back in the day. And she like raising her hands in the air.

She, like, "Pray always that you may come off conqueror!" And she was totally super active about it. But that's not just why I want to shout out to Sister Terri and other seminary teachers. You see, something, whether Sister Terri knew this or not, I don't know.

But I met Sister Terri at a specific time in my life when I was struggling with my own testimony in high school. I was lost. I didn't know where I wanted to go.

It left me at a time really trying to decide what group of friends I was going to spend my time with. It put me in a time where I didn't know whether I wanted to read my scriptures or pray. And it wasn't that I was like, working against the church.

I just didn't know what I wanted. And it left me in quite a conundrum. And Sister Terri and others around her, some of my friends specifically.

I'm going to pray always. And why am I going to do it? I want to conquer Satan.

And I want to escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work. My friends, yesterday we talked about being encircled in the arms of the love of Jesus Christ. Today we talk about praying always that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work.

There is an opposition in all things. Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Satan is its darkness.

He does have servants that are working hard against you and me, seeking to infiltrate our lives and bring us to misery. I am grateful for the power of prayer in my life and I am grateful for the seminary and institute teachers that prepare every day to have the Spirit in their classrooms to make a difference because Sister Terri and all you other seminary teachers out there, you make a difference. You made a difference in my life and I'm sure you have made a difference in countless others as you've worked day after day, year after year.

Thank you. That's all for today my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.
