In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.
Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Today, a special message from prophets of God.
Welcome back to our reading inside of the Book of Mormon. We're going to be reading this week, 1 Nephi chapters 18 through 22. Hopefully, you've done your Doctrine and Covenants sections 6 through 9 reading.
And now we're in yesterday's 1819-ish 1920-21 Keep the pace of the week. Tomorrow we actually not only read to 22 but we finish 1 Nephi which is pretty cool. Let's dive directly into our verse for today which comes out of 1 Nephi chapter 19, it is verse 10 and I love the references inside of this one so let's see what it says here.
It says, And the God of our fathers, who were led out of Egypt, out of bondage. Search for witnesses of Jesus Christ and ask, is there a witness anywhere? Or if there is, where are their records?
Here, we not only have Nephi's record, but Nephi is saying, look, I know of these prophets. And I love that in this verse, we learn about prophets that we don't even have the writings of. Nephi seems very familiar of them, but we don't have them.
And so we have these words of Zenoch and these words of Neum and Zenos. And here Nephi is saying these men are testifying that Jesus Christ is going to come and he going to atone for the sins of the world and be crucified for us. And then he going to rise three days later.
My friends, it got me thinking, man, I've done this before because I love it. But what is President Nelson saying to us? He is a prophet of God.
And what's his message to us? If you don't remember, in October of 2024, which is the last General Conference that we've had, at least in the time of this recording of the podcast, he says this directly to everyone listening. This is a message to everyone in the world.
He says, "And here is my promise to you. Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple. You will feel His mercy.
You will find answers to your most vexing questions. You will better comprehend the joy of His gospel." My friends, today, take some time to go to the temple and go to the temple at whatever degree that means for you. At least take the steps towards it.
If you've never even been in a temple, I'd encourage you to just go walk the grounds of the temple. If you don't even live close to a temple I encourage you to jump online and go to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, right? Go to the website and click through the temples and see the pictures there.
Get as close to the temple as you can. Those of you that have temple recommends go and serve in the temple because that is where we will find Jesus Christ in our lives. My friends, we truly can find Jesus Christ inside of the temple.
Do whatever it takes today or in the next couple of days for you to get to the temple. If you're not able to go in, that's okay. Go to the grounds, feel it.
If you can't go to it, get online, look at some pictures, find Jesus Christ in the temple and your life will indeed be a little bit more safe. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave into the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt.
