In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. Welcome today, 364 on our 365-day journey through the Book of Mormon together.

These are our last two days of our daily Book of Mormon readings. Today, you're going to be reading Moroni 9:10-26 and Moroni 10:1-7. And as much as I want to share something from Moroni 9, Mormon's last letter to his son that we have at least on record from Moroni, I can't help but focus on Moroni 10:4 and 5.

It's almost like I would be negating my duty or something if I didn't choose one of those verses as our verse for today inside of Savory Salt. These three verses are verses that every missionary in I don't even know how many generations has shared and given to anyone who has been a true seeker of Jesus Christ by reading the Book of Mormon. We refer to it as "Moroni's Promise" or "Moroni's Challenge" or whatever you want to call it there.

This is Moroni's final closing where he offers to us a promise and a challenge to test these words and see if they are true. In Moroni 10:3, we're encouraged to remember how merciful the Lord has been. It's so fascinating how many times we've read throughout the Book of Mormon this year that those that remembered how merciful the Lord had been.

And then we get to verse 4, and verse 4 is the verse that I chose for our verse today. Moroni 10 verse 4: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; And if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." And then we are taught again in verse 5 that the power of the Holy Ghost is really to reveal truth of all things and help us know the truth of all things. These verses are core verses for us finding out whether the Book of Mormon is true.

I want to let you know, as we get close to the end of the year here, that I know I have taken these steps. I have taken time to remember the things the Lord has done, not just in the past with past prophets and apostles and church leaders, but in my own life and the role that the Lord has played in helping me in my life, the miracles I've seen. I have seen the Lord's mercy in my life.

I want to also let you know that I've taken on this challenge and promise from Moroni and I have asked of God. I've asked him with faith in Christ to help me know that the things inside the Book of Mormon are true. That the men and women that are spelled out here are real.

And I've come to gain that witness. And I love coming to this at the end of the Book of Mormon each time because I like to go back through and ask the Lord to continue to keep that fire inside of me. Help me know again.

So whether this is the first time through the Book of Mormon for you or whether this is the umpteenth time through the Book of Mormon, I would encourage you to take time today, kneel and do these steps. Ask Heavenly Father. Seek.

He'll let you know. I know that He can testify to you of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I have found its truth in my life and I've found it to be a great light during the dark times of my life.

And really a life guide. I hope it can be the same for you as well. That's all for today, my friends.

Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. We've got one more day this year. I'll be here tomorrow, and I hope you are too.
