In Matthew 5.13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. Where did I write that down?

Welcome today, 313 on our 365 day journey through the Book of Mormon together. Today, you're going to be reading 3rd Nephi chapter 22, verses 9 through 17. You will finish the words of Isaiah and Christ.

And then you're also going to read all of 3rd Nephi 23, which is a massive 14 verses. Now, our verse for today revolves around the beginning comment I made here, and that is, where did I write that down? Today we going to be looking at 3rd Nephi 23 verse 11 And this is the middle of a conversation with Christ and Nephi here so understand that this is coming in the middle of a conversation but verse 11 says And Jesus said unto them, How be it that ye have not written this thing, that many saints did arise and appear unto many, and did minister unto them?

Now a little bit of context there. Verse 9 actually talks about how the Savior told Samuel the Lamanite to go and tell the people that when Christ was going to be resurrected, a lot of saints were also going to be resurrected and they were going to minister unto the people. Now this seems like something that you would absolutely write down, right?

I mean, think about this family members resurrecting and then ministering to you might be something that you pause and go, I got to write this down. And yet what happened is Christ says he's going through their records and he realizes that wasn't written down. And he says, wait, didn't I tell you guys to write these things down?

And they realize that they had not recorded it. They hadn't put it down. My friends in our lives as we go through our lives and we witness miracles where do we record them Where do we write them down I know that there are family records that I like to go back to and read stories of my ancestors whether it pioneer stories or whether it just learning about them And yet I gotta be honest, I'm not the writer downer guy.

I'm not the journaler. I did keep a journal on my mission, but as I go forward here, something that I've really come to love and actually become really passionate about is this type of record that I'm keeping. And that's this verbal record inside Savory Salt.

Now it's not a day-to-day record here per se. I'm not telling you guys my day-to-day happenings, but what I am trying to do is capture my testimony around my own life events and share a thought that may uplift or strengthen or help somebody else on their faith journey as well. My friends, as you experience miracles, as you experience small touches of the Spirit in your life, whatever it may be, as your faith is strengthened, record those things.

My daughter is a wonderful example of this. I have a daughter that has just, for whatever reason, from early on in her life, she was like, I'm going to journal every day. And we kind of chuckle sometimes because there days that we can go back to in her journal and look at specific times where as a family maybe it was a chaotic day or maybe it was a crazy day And we go and we get to see the day through her lens as she was experiencing it And I love that We be right back I don't care the style, but record them and keep a record of the miracles in your life so that friends and family can have those and they too can be uplifted from those miraculous events.

That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow and I hope you are too.
