In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from, thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. What in the world do we have to be so joyful about? Welcome to day 303 on our 365 day journey through the Book of Mormon together.

Today, you're going to be reading 3 Nephi 16:4-20. You will finish that chapter. This is the Savior talking about the future and the dealings with the house of Israel and the Gentiles.

And there is a lot inside of this that deals with the future and prophecy and what's going to happen. And then at the very end of the chapter, the Savior gives reference to a prophecy from Isaiah. And that is where we are going to take our verse for today.

We are going to look at 3 Nephi 16:19. I'm going to read that one, but I really want you to attach it to verse 20. And I'm not going to break this.

We've done it for 303 days. I will not add an additional verse, but you really want to read verse 20 with verse 19 here. Verse 19 says, 'Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.' And it keeps going into verse 20.

But can you feel the excitement there? What do we have to be so joyful about? The Lord is real.

He has come to redeem not just Jerusalem, but the world. The promise there at the tail end of 20 is that all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of God. God's power is on the earth today.

His authority and power is called the priesthood. It has been restored to the earth. The power of Jesus Christ is real.

It has the ability to heal you and it has the ability to heal me, and through it we truly can be redeemed. I love this. This redemption does not have to be in some long-distant future.

This redemption can come in our lives today. I have seen the healing power of the priesthood in my life, and some stories and examples that are so sacred to me that I do not share them publicly. I know through my conversations with my daughter on her mission that she has seen the power of Jesus Christ to heal those that she serves.

My friends, those of you that have experienced it, those of you that have seen it, those of you that have felt the redeeming love, as the scripture would say, continue to share. Share it in joy. Share it with your friends and your family.

This is absolutely something to break forth into joy. I am grateful for the experiences that I've had to see the hand of the Lord in my life. I am grateful for the healing that I experience in my own imperfections, for the Savior of the world is here for me.

He is here for you, and he is here for the world. I am so grateful to my Savior for His love and His sacrifice. I know He's real.

I know His power is real. I know that it can heal in ways that we don't even fathom. Have faith in Him, turn to Him, and you too will find the redeeming love and hopefully find the joy to sing together so that truly all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of God.

That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow and I hope you are too.
