In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.
Hello, my friends and family. Wherever you're listening from, thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. Got a quick question for you.
Do you want a recipe for deliverance? Because that's what we're going to look at today. Deliverance from what, you might ask?
I don't know. Deliverance from all sorts of bondage, addictions, challenges, struggles in your life, physical or mental issues that you may be experiencing. Welcome to Day 115 on our 365 journey through the Book of Mormon.
Today we are going to be reading Mosiah chapter 7, verses 16 through 33. We are going to finish that chapter, and we are going to continue learning more about Limhi and his people. And we are actually going to find out that they feel like some of the decisions they made, and ultimately killing a prophet, led to a lot of the challenges they were facing in their lives.
They were trying to figure out how to get out of the Well. Our verse today helps out with that, and hopefully it'll do the same for you and I. Today we're going to read Mosiah chapter 7, verse 33.
It says, I see this as the recipe for deliverance from bondage. I think this could just as easily be applied to the issues and challenges we face today as it was applied to the people of Limhi as they sought for their own freedom from the challenges that they faced in their day. Turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart.
What does that look like? You're going to need to decide what that looks like in your life. Put your trust in Him.
Serve Him with all diligence of mind. Here's that diligence again. Interesting how often that comes into our lives when we look at things through a scriptural lens.
Be diligent of mind. And if you do this, He will, according to His own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage. I can tell you there are times in my life where turning to the Lord with full purpose of heart, trusting in Him, and trying to lose myself in my service to Him has absolutely led to freedom in my life.
Freedom in a true sense. I love that the Lord offers freedom through His atonement. I love that I can be released from the different bonds that hold me down, whether those bonds be true physical bonds or challenges I experience in my life, whether those be mental or emotional bonds.
I know this recipe to work. I know it to be true. And I hope that as you experience it in your life and put it to the test, you can find that it is true in your life as well.
Limhi and his people are absolutely going to find freedom from their bondage. You and I can do the same today. That is the promise the Lord has given us through this verse.
That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow, and I hope you are too.
