In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I'm cheering for your every success. Welcome to day 68 on our 365-day journey through the Book of Mormon.

I appreciate you joining me and love that you're wrestling with me here inside of these Isaiah chapters. Today is actually pretty smooth sailing when it comes to Isaiah chapters that are worth comprehension. I mean, they're all worth comprehension, but these ones are a little bit easier to understand.

So today on our journey, we're going to read 2 Nephi 21 and 2 Nephi 22. Now don't get worried about those chapters. They're not excessive and large in size.

It will be quite a decent read for you. And I love these chapters because they talk about Jesus Christ and him coming in the millennial day, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. And so I love these chapters because I can understand several of the verses in them and I can look at them and say, wait, that looks like a day that I look forward to.

I want to go and experience that. So I hope you enjoy the readings inside of today. Okay, we're going to get to our verse of the day and it's going to come from chapter 22.

Actually, one of our little tiny chapters here, it's only got six verses, but we're going to read verse 1 in chapter 22. And again, this is talking about this Second Coming of Christ, this millennial day, the day that Christ shall come and reign on the earth. And this is what the verse says, verse 1: "And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee.

Though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me." You gotta love the King James Version there, right? 'Thou comfortedest me.' You comforted me. Let's just say it what it is. Gotta love King James Version there.

Add those 'st's wherever we can. Now I like this verse and this verse resonates with me because there are two sides of the coin here. It got me reflecting on several experiences that I've seen in my life.

You see there the praise of God here. There's 'O Lord, I will praise thee.' There's that Nephi experience there where he's saying 'O Lord, I will praise thee forever.' And then the other side is, hey, you were angry, but you're not angry anymore. You turned your anger away and you comforted me.

And it got me thinking about, our last several days, we've talked about the power of repentance in our lives and the power of turning ourselves to the Lord. And I think this shows that other side of the coin, the angry part. Thank you for watching.

Thank you for joining us today. We have the opportunity to focus a little bit more on living the commandments, see a little bit more on how we can step up and keep our covenants just a little bit better. We too can have the comfort of the Lord in our lives.

And that gets me fired up. That gets me feeling good. And it's been fun to just pause and reflect on the different times in my life both on my mission and after my mission when I've been able to see people choose Jesus Christ and then go into the Lord.

Let's go to the waters of baptism and come out with a massive smile on their face. Maybe you've been one of those individuals, or maybe you too have been one of the blessed witnesses to see that experience of someone come out of baptism and have a huge smile as the Lord comforts them and says, 'Well done.' That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.

Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow. I hope you are too.
