Maybe a little reflective activity that worth pausing or after the end of this podcast episode take a second and look over the last 34 days and say wow what is changing as a result of diving into the scriptures a little bit each day Just something to think about here as we get into our reading for today.
If you are joining me on this 365-day journey, you're going to read 1 Nephi 19, verses 14 through 24. Let's read it together. Verse 23. And I did read many things unto them which were written in the books of Moses, but that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord their Redeemer, I did read unto them that which was written by the prophet Isaiah.
For I did liken all scriptures unto us that it might be for our profit and learning This one interesting because we tend to just go straight to the end where it says Nephi likened all scriptures and I supposed to liken scriptures unto myself And that's great. I think that's awesome. We've been doing that through this podcast, liken the scriptures unto yourselves for your profit and learning.
But I think it's interesting how Nephi phrased this. And I think it caught, maybe the first time in my life, I kind of caught how he read this. He said, you know, we've been reading the books of Moses.
So he's reading from these brass plates that they had from Laban, right? We're reading the books of Moses, but that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord, their Redeemer. I did read unto them that which was written by the prophet Isaiah.
And then he gives us Isaiah chapters. So I want to give you a little kind of pre-context as we get into the Isaiah chapters and just let you know straight up front. I don't understand all the Isaiah chapters.
I don't get them. I don't get a lot of them. But what I am going to do inside of the Isaiah chapters as we get there, And that what I want to try and find inside the Isaiah chapters And I encourage you to do the same thing as you go into them If there sections in here you don understand with Isaiah that okay What ones can you pull out and say you know what That one builds my testimony of Christ just a little bit more That one right there helps me see the role that Christ plays just a little bit more That the lens we going to use as we dive into some of these Isaiah chapters So hold on with me as we get into them I hope you enjoying your process here of a little bit each day And take a second to reflect, as I mentioned at the front end of this.
See what's happening in your life. How are things changing? Because you are doing the small and simple things.
