In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.
Hello, my friends. It is a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.
You know, every now and then on Savory Salt, I come across one of these verses and it just seems like there's so much in it. There's no possible way I can distill all the things I'm thinking and feeling about it. That's what we've got inside of one of the verses today.
I will do my best to not get convoluted and overly wordy here, but as is typically the case, I tend to just say the things that I have hopefully delivered in a way that brings the Spirit into your life. Our verse for today is in Isaiah chapter 55 as we go through 50 through 57 this week. It's verse 3, and in verses 1 and 2 especially.
I love verse 1 as well. There are some power verses here as the Lord invites everyone, in salvation being free. No money can buy that.
And so we have this invitation here, and then we have kind of a directive and an invitation at the same time in verse 3. And that's what I want to look at. Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Now, I don't know about you, but did you hear all the different orders, operations, things to do, things to receive, blessings that come from it? That is what's stewing in my mind, so let's see if we can first kind of attach a few things together here. Incline your ear.
We've talked before about the Lord inclining towards us as we pray to Him, literally leaning in to hear the prayer. Here, He invites us to do the same to Him. Incline your ear and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live.
Isn't that interesting there? There's the inclination of the head, the leaning in, and then you've got to actually hear what's being said. This past week, I've been able to spend time with incredible friends in an organized mastermind.
If you're not familiar with what a mastermind is like, in simplest terms, it's a group of people getting together to uplift and to strengthen each other in their own personal pursuits and vision and direction. And so that's where I was able to spend some time this week. And it's amazing how many times I found myself inclining my ear, leaning in, and how many times I watched as my friends leaned into me as well and shared insights.
The Lord encourages us to incline towards Him, come unto Him, and your soul shall live. Then we get some incredible blessings here on the backside. I will make an everlasting covenant with you.
My friends, I'm so grateful for the covenants that we get to make along our life progression, especially those covenants that go inside the temple of the Lord. I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my knowledge and also to expand my relationship with a Heavenly Father who loves me and to do so through our Savior Jesus Christ. Again, inside of this concept of the mastermind, we have an idea here where everyone has come together for the benefit.
My friends, I've mentioned it this week and perhaps it's just where I'm at in stage of life, but Isaiah's words are becoming more and more beautiful to me as I hear them, as I ponder on them, and as I see the call that Isaiah gives to each one of us to come unto the Lord, to make everlasting covenants with Him, and then to find the grace and the beauty that lies in those covenants. That's all for today, my friends. You and I have come here for such a time as this.
Step forward in faith and let's be savory salt. We will be here tomorrow and we hope
