Key Points
- Esther 4:14 challenges us to consider our divine purpose and unique placement in life, just as Queen Esther was called to a critical role to save her people.
- The episode emphasizes that events and relationships in our lives are not random occurrences but integral parts of God's intricate divine design, guiding us toward specific moments and roles.
- Listeners are encouraged to lean into the Spirit and follow promptings, recognizing that they too have been intentionally placed 'for such a time as this' to fulfill a significant divine purpose.
- Insights from Elder Maxwell and Elder Rasband reinforce the principle that God's hand is actively involved in both the major milestones and the small, personal details of our daily lives.
I know that you too have been placed exactly where you are by divine design.

In Matthew 5, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, reminding us that our lives are meant to preserve, illuminate, and point others to Him. This season on Savory Salt, we'll walk through the Old Testament, one verse and one thought each day. Perhaps these moments will add greater savor and brighter light to our lives as we seek to truly live as Savory Salt.
Hello, my friends. It's a new day with new opportunities. Choose ye this day whom you will serve.
It's not an accident. It's not a coincidence. It's not good luck doing its thing.
My friends, it's divine design. And we have finally come to one of the scriptures that I chose to have inside of our intro and outro of Savory Salt episodes for this season. The one today is going to be inside of our outro that I use every day on purpose.
Let's dive into it with Esther chapter 4. We now see that the plan is unfolding. The Jews are marked for death, complete annihilation from Haman as part of his plan.
Mordecai turns to Esther, she now queen, and he encourages her to take things up with the King. But she faces the danger of her own life if she interrupts the King without being invited in. What does she do?
What does she do? Our verse for today is Esther chapter 4 verse 14. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall their enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place.
But thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed. And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? My friends, perhaps you've had that moment where you've just wondered, how did that person come into my life right now?
Perhaps you've been that person and you've showed up and helped someone and they said, I don't even know where you came from, but it was the right place at the right time. I love the messages that we get from Elder Maxwell and from Elder Rasband in the Come Follow Me sections and I want to share them with you. From Elder Maxwell, he says, the Lord does not do things by coincidence, but instead by divine design.
And Elder Rasband testifies that the Lord's hand is guiding you by divine design. He is in the small details of your life as well as the major milestones. My friends, isn't it amazing that you and I have the opportunity to lean into the Spirit, follow its promptings, and become part of a divine design that's so insanely intricate that none of us could even imagine that things would happen?
I love this one. I get so excited about it and fired up because I have had moments in my life where the person just happened to show up. I'll share one as a quick example.
There's times in my life where, look, I'm a girl dad. I love my girls. I have three older sisters.
I love my sisters. I've been around the ladies forever and there are times where I'm like, is there a dude in my life anywhere? Can I just have a dude conversation for a second?
Don't get me wrong, I love my girls in my world. I absolutely do. There's no ifs, ands, or buts about that.
It is true. And one time I was having a particularly difficult time in my life and I just needed to talk to somebody, right? Just needed to talk to someone.
And out of nowhere, one of my best friends from childhood, Anthony, gives me a call. And he's like, hey man, I just wanted to reach out and see, like, do you want to go to dinner or something? Do you want to just take some time and just the two of us go out to dinner?
That, my friends, was divine design. And, come to find out, of the Holy Trinity and the Holy Spirit, this is an opportunity that Esther sees here through Mordecai to be able to say, I've been placed here for such a time as this. I know that you too have been placed exactly where you are by divine design. www.jessr.org. Thanks for watching!
