In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

It's great to have you with me. Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. What are the core tenets of your testimony?

We've been reading this week Doctrine and Covenants Section 135 and 136 as well as Mormon Chapter 7 through Ether Chapter 2. And I realized as I've done these first couple episodes at the beginning of this week that what's happening here is the core aspects of my own testimony are being found in the readings that we have. We started the week with a testimony of Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, a real prophet and seer called of God.

Yesterday from Doctrine and Covenants 135 we talked about Hyrum reading from the Book of Mormon, and I shared with you one of my favorite segments of Elder Holland testifying of the Book of Mormon. And I add my witness to his, although mine may pale quite so in comparison to the power that he shares of a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Today we're going to shift gears into the Book of Mormon Chapter 7, and add another core pillar of my testimony that I may share with you.

Our verse for today is Mormon Chapter 7, Verse 5. And in Mormon Chapter 7, he turns, Mormon turns to the survivors, those that are left, those that have destroyed his people. He turns to them and leaves a record for them, hoping that at some point they may lay hold upon those things.

They may read them and see his call to action for them in their lives. I think at the time Mormon knew that this record wasn't going to be shared in his day because the people chasing him and hunting him down wanted to destroy these records. So it kind of adds a special touch of sorts to it to know that Mormon's looking forward to a day in the future, far into the future, maybe even our day, where he is calling to those Lamanites, the ancestors of those so far down the road, and asking and begging them to lay hold upon the words.

Here, Mormon 7 says this: "Know ye that ye must come to the knowledge of your fathers, and repent of all your sins and iniquities, and believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God, and that he was slain by the Jews. And by the power of the Father he hath risen again, whereby he hath gained the victory over the grave. And also in him is the sting of death swallowed up." My friends, I love the call to action here.

Mormon has an opportunity to invite those to come unto Christ. What a loving call to action. How often do we see others testifying of Jesus Christ and leaving out the need for us to repent and approach Jesus Christ in cleanliness and humility?

The Bible is a testimony that Christ was the Son of God and that by the power of God He is risen again. I believe in a resurrected Jesus Christ. I believe the day will come where He will return to earth, bring all nations to Him.

I look forward to that day. I'm grateful to add another pillar. It's like this week, all of these scriptures coming together.

I hope that you take an opportunity to sit down and to consider for you what the core aspects of your testimony are. Because as we go through the reading this week, at least, we're absolutely touching on core aspects of your testimony. I love my testimony that I share with you.

I testify of a living Jesus Christ, our Savior, who loves us, who wants us to repent and return to Him so that we too can have that sting of death swallowed up and we can stand before Him clean, happy and pure. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.

Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt. We'll see you next time.
