In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

It's great to have you with me. Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. A lesson today from my missionary out there.

We're reading this week Doctrine and Covenants sections 102 through 105 as well as Helaman chapters 8 through 12. I mentioned yesterday that you should spend some time thinking about stewardship and perhaps asking the Lord to see what that means in your callings and your prayers. Doctrine and Covenants section 105, verse 5 says this: And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom.

Otherwise, I cannot receive her unto myself. Now, that seems like a pretty basic, pretty simple, you know, 'Hey, live celestial law and then Zion can be built up.' But, my friends, we kind of see inside of Doctrine and Covenants section 105, especially on the front end of it, that the Lord's trying to say, 'Hey, there's a high likelihood that Zion would already be fully established if y'all would just live celestial law.' Now, that sounds kind of rough from the Lord, and yet I see it as actually quite loving from the Lord. He's trying to purify us.

He's trying to say, 'Look, I want to give you celestial blessings. And in order to give you celestial blessings, you need to live celestially. Don't live terrestrially or telestrally or any other -estrally, right?

Live celestially!' You know, my daughter on her mission, as tends to be the case with many missionaries, when we get an opportunity to talk to her on Mondays, she never misses an opportunity to encourage us to repent ourselves as a family, to be a little bit better in what we're doing. And I love that because I know on a mission, you're so encouraged regularly to live obediently, to seek for blessings and miracles from the Lord. And I can tell you, we have seen miracles through my daughter's mission, as many families do with their missionaries on missions.

But, my friends, she continues to seek to be obedient. She continues to look for those things in her life that will bring a new level, a celestial level, of obedience into her work. And it's very contagious.

It's not demoralizing to me to be called to repentance. I'm excited that she is seeing the blessings of obedience in her life and she's inviting us to also be able to witness and see miracles and blessings in our lives as we seek to be more obedient. I love the message in Doctrine and Covenants 105 here as the Lord tries to say, 'Look, it's right around the corner.

Just live celestially, and you'll see it!' My friends, I hope you and I together can lift each other in a celestial law. I hope we can hold each other accountable in celestial ways, and I hope that the Lord pours into our hearts and minds and souls full celestial love. The pure love of Jesus Christ, that we can experience it at that level and ultimately bring a rise of Zion in our lives today.

May you and I build up Zion by living our own lives more celestially. That is my prayer for the day. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt.
