In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

It is great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. We have another example here of Doctrine and Covenants and our Book of Mormon reading smashing together and feeding on top of each other.

As we've been reading this week, Doctrine and Covenants section 76, and our last thought specifically from 76 being that of the good news and the glad tidings. We have Alma chapter 26 in the middle of our reading of Alma 25 through 28. If you read, if you listened to last season, I should say, at all, you know that Alma chapter 26 is another one of my favorites as we're seeing this reflection on the missionary work that has happened with the Lamanites.

We just have a missionary that is just so excited about the success that he had as a missionary. And it's not even the success he had; it's just that his testimony is just bursting out because he sees the blessings of the Lord upon the people that he preached to. He sees the blessings upon he and his missionary friends.

He just sees the blessings of the Lord everywhere. And he's just... he's boasting. And he's like, "If this is boasting, so let it be.

I am so grateful to Heavenly Father," right? And so our thought for today, our verse for today, comes from Alma chapter 26. It's going to be on verse 36.

It says this: "Blessed be the name of my God who has been mindful of us wanderers in a strange land." Now, that's just the tail end of this incredible testimony that's borne throughout the entire chapter of Alma chapter 26. And yet, there are a couple pieces inside of it that really resonated with me that I wanted to share with you today. One is this concept that he knows that God has been mindful of a people that aren't just regular people.

They're a lost people. They are wanderers in a strange land. They're separated from the body.

Now, I might be a little bit of a stretch here, but this is what I thought of when I read this verse. There have been times in my life, very specific times in my life, where I've been in foreign countries and I've gotten sick. Sometimes when I'm traveling, I get like super sick.

We're not going to go into the details of sickness, but I get really, really sick. And it's happened in several different countries and typically happens when I'm—yes, I'm traveling with a group, but like, it's just kind of me traveling. And there have been specific times where I know that God is mindful of me as a wanderer in a strange land.

There have been times when I've been able to have access to priesthood blessings, even though I'm in those foreign countries. There have been times where I've been so weak I can't even get out of bed. And yet, I am comforted and know that the Lord is mindful of the work that I'm trying to do in that specific country.

My friends, I hope that you and I each have opportunities in our lives and seek opportunities in our lives to have moments when we know that regardless of where we are in the world or where we are in our life circumstances. Thank you for joining us today. The Bible says that there is no place on earth, or above it, or below it, that we can possibly be that is without sight of the Lord.

He is mindful of each one of us, and as we turn to Him, we can be blessed with His comfort and peace and love. That is the testimony I bear today. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Believe in the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt.
