In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, it is great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. I'm so grateful that we covered that one this week inside of our reading of Doctrine and Covenants sections 58 and 59 as well as Alma chapters 2 through 5. I got a quick question for you.

Do you ever worry about bearing your testimony? Perhaps today has a bit of a solution for you. I am excited to welcome back to Alma chapter 5.

There's so much inside of here, and Alma gives us such a great view into the power of pure testimony. Let's take a look at the verse for today and see what it means for us. Today we're going to look at Alma chapter 5, verse 48.

And mercy and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name. Can you feel Alma's testimony here?

It is in the bearing of pure witness of Jesus Christ that testimonies can invite the Spirit of the Lord in our lives. I know that we kind of laugh inside of the church a little bit about fast and testimony meetings because you never know what people are going to stand up and say. But can you imagine what the Spirit would be if everyone that stood up focused specifically on the role that Jesus Christ plays in their life as the Only Begotten of the Father, as the one who came and took away the sins of the world?

My friends, if you're nervous about sharing your testimony, you need not go any further than bearing your testimony of a belief in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Bearing testimony that He came, that He lives, that He will come is the simplest, purest way to invite the Spirit into your life and the life of those that hear your testimony. If you get nervous about bearing your testimony, stay on the Savior and His Atonement.

The Spirit will testify of its truthfulness. Alma knew this as he went back to church members and he said, I know that the best thing I can possibly do with them is to bear a pure testimony of the role of Jesus Christ in their lives. He knew it, and he's going to do it not just in Alma 5, but he's going to do it over and over again through the preceding chapters as we're going to go forward here.

And I love that reminder for each one of us. If you haven't heard yourself bear testimony in a while, I encourage you to take the opportunity. Say it out loud.

Share it with a loved one or family members or friends. If you don't share it in church, that's okay, but share it out loud. Bear testimony of Jesus Christ and His Atonement and feel the power of the Spirit testify of its truthfulness in your life.

It will happen. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.

Cleave unto the covenants you have made and together we will be savory salt. We'll see you next time.
