Allen Roberds reflects on Doctrine and Covenants 58:42, emphasizing the Lord's complete forgiveness when we repent and His promise to remember our sins no more. My friends, the Lord's reminder to us that our repentance is an opportunity for us to be fully forgiven and to have Him remember them no more is such a beautiful thought for me. It's an opportunity that says, 'Allen, you're going to mess up, but I'm not going to continue to hold it against you as you come forward and repent.'

In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends, it's great to have you with me.
Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. I hope that activity yesterday with the bring to pass much righteousness has given you a new lens on some of the things that you want to accomplish on a daily basis. And I think our thought and our scripture for today can help you with just that.
In fact, I'm just going to let you know right on the front end of today, there is a link to an amazing Amazing talk by Elder Uchtdorf called "Daily Restoration." In the episode today, I would absolutely encourage you to take some time and go listen to that entire message, even though we're just going to look at a fraction of it. We are reading this week Doctrine and Covenants sections 58 and 59 as well as Alma chapters 2 through 5. Our thought today and our scripture for today carries on, I think, connected to yesterday.
I'm going to try and make sure I make that connection for you. In my head, it makes sense. But let's take a look at Doctrine and Covenants Section 58, verse 42.
As I mentioned, some of these are just standalone poster type messages from the Lord. This is one of those that I think is worth every one of us remembering. It says in verse 42, Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.
My friends, I often hear people complain that the gospel or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of guilt. It is one that is focused on the sinfulness of the individual, and I could not disagree more. I believe the gospel focuses on repentance and on a chance for all of us to not just be forgiven, but to have the Lord remember them no more.
It's an opportunity for us when we put the idea together of daily repentance as our prophet has called on us to do with the idea that the Lord remembers them no more. Look, the Lord is not holding grudges. He's not waiting around for us to mess up again so that He can say I told you so.
The Lord remembers them no more when we go before Him and repent of our sins. Now, in connection with Elder Uchtdorf's message of "Daily Restoration," he talks about this idea of a chance for us to constantly minor course correct. And he uses.
There's so many cool images, as he always does. He tells such great stories. Yes, one of them is flight related, as the joke kind of goes with Elder Uchtdorf.
But I wanted to share this segment from his talk. He says this: "Do you want to change the shape of your life? Change the shape of your day.
Do you want to change your day? Change this hour. Change what you think, feel, and do at this very moment.
A small rudder can steer a large ship." My friends, the Lord's reminder to us that our repentance is an opportunity for us to be fully forgiven and to have Him remember them no more is such a beautiful thought for me. It's an opportunity that says, 'Allen, you're going to mess up, but I'm not going to continue to hold it against you as you come forward and repent.' I hope that as you made your list of the 'anxiously engaged,' right? I hope that that anxiously engaged list includes daily repentance, a daily restoration, a chance for you to dive into your prayers, your scripture study, and moments with the Lord where you can feel the love of God.
Thank you for joining us today. My friends, lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt. For more information, visit us at www.fema.org.
