In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry His flavor, His truth, and His love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello my friends, great to have you with me.

Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. We're going to go full circle today as we wrap up our reading from Doctrine and Covenants Section 45 as well as our chapters in Mosiah 12 through 16. Let's get straight to our verse here and then into our thought because it is a full circle from how we opened the week with a focus on the light of Jesus Christ in our lives.

Our verse for today is Mosiah chapter 16 verse 9. This is the middle of, well it's more the tail end I guess, of Abinadi's testimony in his trial. Talking of Jesus Christ he says this in verse 9: The Bible says can never be darkened, yea, and also a life which is endless that there can be no more death.

Now we started this week with the words of the Lord testifying that He is the light and that He shines in a darkness and the darkness doesn't see it. And so our challenge this week was taking an opportunity to see the light of Christ in our lives so that we weren't in that darkness. We weren't the darkness that didn't comprehend it.

And as I've done that activity this week, do you know what I've found? My challenges didn't go away. In fact, this week has been quite a challenging week professionally for me.

And in some of the businesses and the opportunities and the professional side of things that I work with, it's been a challenging week. But you know what I've also seen? As I've taken time every day to focus on the light of Christ in my life, I have seen the people that represent Him and that are trying to do their best.

I have seen activities that draw me closer to Jesus Christ. I've seen nature testifying of the light of Christ in my life. You see, my friends, our focus on the light of Jesus Christ doesn't remove our challenges.

It doesn't take away life struggles. What it does do is it gives us an opportunity to decide what we will focus on. This week it helped so much for me to hear of the challenges happening not just around me but around friends and family members and loved ones.

And yet despite those challenges also hold gratitude and space for my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ because of the blessings that they have sent in my life. I hope that through this week and whether you decide to move on with it and continue with your list or not, I hope you realize that a focus on Jesus Christ does not remove the challenges or struggles in our lives. They're always going to be there.

And we can focus on those challenges and struggles always. But the other side is always going to be there as well. And that's the love of our Savior for each one of us.

That's the love of a Heavenly Father who sent His only Begotten Son to atone for our sins so that we could stand before Him in joy and rejoice in happiness as family and friends together. That's the blessing and the gratitude that I have seen this week. And it's interesting, even the conversations I've had with people that have no idea this podcast exists—challenges that they're facing.

And some of those challenges are far greater than the challenges that I'm facing personally. My friends, a focus on Jesus Christ is a focus on opportunity ahead of us. It's a focus on the blessings from Heavenly Father, someone who truly loves us and wants the best for each one of us.

I am so grateful that Abinadi testified of His light. I am grateful that we have the Doctrine and Covenants to testify of His light. I am grateful for Jesus Christ, the light and the life of the world.

I hope you've experienced it this week as well. That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice.

Cleave into the covenants you have made. And together we will be savory salt.
