In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Thank you for jumping in today.

I am excited to continue on our Book of Mormon reading for this week as we have covered our Doctrine and Covenants Section 29. Yesterday we focused on 2 Nephi chapter 33, and today and tomorrow we'll be in the Book of Jacob. Our verse for today is going to be in Jacob chapter.

And it says this: 'Word of God with all diligence. Wherefore, by laboring with our might, their blood might not come upon our garments. Otherwise, their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day.' Now, this is an ultimate level of personal responsibility that Jacob and Joseph take upon themselves as they go forward to preach and to teach.

We find out in Jacob chapter 1 that just really one king after Nephi, the people are already turning to sin. We're going to get, actually, Jacob chapters 2 and 3 and whatnot, are going to be Jacob teaching the people in the temple of what he has been told by God to teach. I don't want to get too far ahead of that, because that's maybe tomorrow as we dive into that a little bit.

But Jacob's responsibility here is one that we can each take individually in our own lives. And that responsibility could be family responsibility, that could be neighborly responsibility, that could be member of the ward or the stake responsibility. I love that what they're basically saying, or at least according to Allen's translation of verse 19, what I read here, is that Jacob and Joseph decided that at the end of the day, they wanted no questions asked about whether they believed in Jesus Christ.

Thank you for watching. To share often with my family members how I feel about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I don't want to hide. I don't want it in question.

I want to make sure that my testimony is brought to light and that I share it with all that I have opportunity to be acquainted with. That way I too can join Jacob and Joseph and I can stand tall at the last day and totally be found spotless at the last day. My friends, you and I have an opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We can share it often. We can share it with our friends and family. We can share it with strangers.

It is an opportunity and a blessing for us to do so. I hope you take the opportunity today to share that testimony with someone you love as well. That's all for today, my friends.

Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave to the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt. You can find this podcast program at
