In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry his flavor, his truth, and his love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.
Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Welcome to 75 Days into 2025, the recording of this podcast.
This has been an amazing journey so far. Thank you for those of you that dive in and listen on this day-by-day podcast. Thank you for those of you that share it with your friends and family.
I love seeing the different places and the different ways that people download. And thank you for striving to be a little more savory salt every day. I know the Lord is pleased with those efforts.
I feel it in my life, and I hope you feel it in yours. Today, we're going to be completing our reading of 2 Nephi 19, as we completed now Doctrine and Covenants 20. And now we're going to be reading today, at least for my schedule, 2 Nephi 22-23.
Inside of it, our verse for today comes from 2 Nephi 22, also known as Isaiah 12, as we look at these Isaiah chapters. But it says this: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation." There are so many power phrases in that. We could spend all day every day looking at these power phrases. "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid." My goodness, there are so many things happening in the world today that there are times where you can just get in a spiral.
You're like, "Fear, fear, fear everywhere, fear!" And here is a reminder that as God is our salvation, we can trust and not be afraid. "The Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song." He is in the very fibers of us as we go forward, and ultimately he becomes our salvation. This, my friends, is a power verse. And the way to remember this power verse, or at least one way to remember this power verse, is to keep that type of song in your heart.
I put a link inside of our podcast episode today that will take you over to YouTube to hear a beautiful rendition of "The Lord Is My Light" by the BYU Singers. I love this song because one, it reminds me of my mom. And for those of you that have been listeners for a while, you know my mom passed away at the end of last year.
And "The Lord Is My Light" is one of the songs that she would sing. Just here and there, it would just kind of happen randomly. And so it's a reminder of her, but also what I'd encourage you to do is read or listen to the words of that song.
They are empowering. "The Lord is my light, then why should I fear? By day and by night his presence is near. He my salvation from sorrow and sin, the blessed assurance the Spirit doth bring." The Lord Jehovah is our strength.
We have someone we can trust in and not be afraid. And we truly can find salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That's all for today, my friends.
Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt. For more information, visit us at www.patreon.com.
