In Matthew 5:13, Jesus calls us the salt of the earth, a bold reminder that our lives are meant to carry His flavor, His truth, and His love to the world. Join me each day to explore one verse of scripture and one thought, striving to stay full of savor and truly live as savory salt. Hello, my friends.

Great to have you with me. Today, let's be anxiously engaged in a good cause and bring to pass much righteousness. Welcome back.

I am so excited that we have gone through Doctrine and Covenants section 18 this week. It has given me such an awesome perspective, and I got to admit, I'm still going down the rabbit hole of searching out the 12, as I talked about yesterday. It has been such a great experience.

I've even had some of you guys thank you for texting me about what experiences you have done with that. So if you have not listened to yesterday, jump back into yesterday, go back and perhaps take that challenge there. We're going to shift gears from Doctrine and Covenants section 18 and go into our Book of Mormon reading for the week as we're going to be reading 2 Nephi chapters 10 through 14.

Or perhaps you've already been reading 2 Nephi chapters 10 through 14. Today as we look at that pacing of what it is for me, or at least what I'm looking at, I am going to be looking in 2 Nephi chapters 10 and 11, and our verse for today comes out of chapter 11 here on the front end. Don't worry, I know that we did 11 last year.

So that was Nephi bearing testimony that not only has he seen Jesus Christ, but so has his brother Jacob. Great reminder there. If you don't remember that, you can go back to season one.

Our verse for today here is going to come from 2 Nephi chapter 11, verse 5. This is still Nephi talking about these things, and he says this: "And also my soul delighteth in the covenants of the Lord, which He hath made to our fathers. Yea, my soul delighteth in His grace, and in His justice, and power, and mercy, in the great and eternal plan of deliverance from death." I love Nephi's writings because he regularly uses the idea of my soul delighteth.

And that speaks to me because you can really feel Nephi's transformation, especially from 2 Nephi 4 on. You really feel like he has this mantle of leadership and testimony, specifically in these records testifying of Jesus Christ. And the piece that stuck out to me today is one that's really got me reflecting.

And it's the piece where he says. The thing that stuck out to me there is I love that the Lord in our scriptures, both biblical and Book of Mormon, made covenants with our fathers. And in my full belief in the Restoration of the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ today, I believe that we have covenants to make with the Lord as well, and that He has covenants to make with us.

And we get to do that in sacred structures, whether it be baptismal covenants that we make at a stake center or a baptismal font, or even sometimes in rivers or lakes. We get to make those covenants with the Lord. And from really the age of eight on, we have opportunities to make covenants with the Lord.

And then ultimately our covenants as we get into adulthood are going to be made in temples that are starting to really just cover the earth. And I'm excited for that, and I love hearing every six months where we're getting more temples built around the world. I was recently talking to some friends that had flown in from different parts of the country as they came in to work in a group on the business side of things.

And I was super excited to just tell them, "Hey, did you know that the temple that you guys have seen construction on, they're going to have an open house, and it's going to be in 2027?" It's going to be between April and October. None of them are of the same beliefs that I have. And yet every one of them was so excited.

And they said, "We got a schedule in 2027 to make sure that we as a group can go in and" I know that the Lord delights in the covenants that you make. So wherever it is on your path of developing your testimony and figuring out what your relationship with the Lord is, I would encourage you to make, keep, and reflect often on the covenants you have made with the Lord. Your life will absolutely be increased in fullness of light and love from Jesus Christ by doing so.

That's all for today, my friends. Lift up your hearts and rejoice. Cleave unto the covenants you have made, and together we will be savory salt.
