In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me, and know that I'm cheering for your every success. How about now?

How about today? Why don't we give it a start? Welcome to Day 206, and welcome to Alma chapter 34, verses 15 to 32.

We're going to be right in the middle of that chapter as Alma and Amulek continue teaching the Zoramites. This one's going to be a little bit more. It's really interesting.

You're going to get a full list—maybe it's not a full list, I guess, but you're going to get a list of all the things to pray for. You're going to get a green light to pray, and you're going to see all the reasons that you can cry unto the Lord. That's in 17 to 27.

And then you're also going to be reminded in this reading today that serving others and helping others and uplifting others is just as important, if not more so, than our prayers. And then we get to our verse for today. That verse comes in Alma chapter 34, verse 32, right at the tail end of our reading for the day.

For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God. Yea, behold, the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. My friends, whatever it is you're waiting on, stop waiting.

If you promise yourself you're going to start praying morning and night, do it today. If you promise yourself you're going to start reading your scriptures every day, do it today. Read them right now.

Get it taken care of. If you promised you were going to go help that neighbor, go help the neighbor today. We have today.

And really, that's all we have. We have today. Yeah, maybe tomorrow's going to come.

Maybe it's not going to come. Maybe the Lord's going to come in our lifetime. Maybe He's not going to come in our lifetime.

But as long as we take time waiting, all we're doing is wasting the blessings and opportunities the Lord has given us with today. I love how missionaries stay in today. It's a beautiful part of missionary work.

I can remember being a missionary and having, you know, what are we going to do today? When are we going to get out of the apartment? What time are we out the door and we're in the streets and we're in the neighborhoods?

What time are we going to... for me, I had to go to schools because we were teaching English, right? Or the church building. And each day was an opportunity for us to focus on the here and now, and focus on what we're going to do to help others.

And I see that today inside of our missionary work as well. As my daughter goes forward, she's still learning and growing inside of that, but the focus is here and now. So my friends, stop waiting for the opportunities to come.

Stop waiting for the day that you're going to change this habit over here or repent of this thing over there. Do it today. The time is now.

Perform your labors. Say your prayers. Live the covenants that you've made and find the joy that comes in doing so.

That is the call to action that we get today. And I'm grateful for it because it's a reminder for me to get up and get going. And I'd say, hey, why don't you join me?

Let's get up together and get going. That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.

Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow, and I hope you are too. I'm your host, Allen Roberds.

Thanks for watching. I'll see you next time. Bye for now. Bye.
