Day 125 Abinadi Reveals the Heirs of God's Kingdom
Show Notes
Allen Roberds dives into Mosiah 15:1-21, where Abinadi profoundly reveals the conditions for becoming heirs of God's kingdom. This reflection explores how hearing and hearkening to the words of the prophets, believing in the Lord's redemption, and looking forward to the remission of sins through Christ makes one an heir of salvation.
Key Points
- Abinadi's powerful testimony answers the priests of King Noah regarding who can be considered the seed of Christ and heirs of God's kingdom.
- To become an heir, individuals must actively hear the words of the holy prophets and diligently hearken unto their teachings.
- A crucial condition is believing that the Lord has the power and ability to redeem His people from their sins.
- Those who look forward to the day when their sins can be remitted through Jesus Christ are recognized as His seed.
- This episode emphasizes the joy and profound opportunity Abinadi offers to understand and strive for eternal heirship.
I love the opportunity Abinadi gives us here to dig in and see if we too can get on the list to become heirs of the kingdom of God.

Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.
Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I am cheering for your every success. I got a smile on my face today, folks.
Today just comes around. I've shared, I love Abinadi stuff and I got a smile on my face as we're going to talk about it today. Welcome to day 125 on our 365-day journey through the Book of Mormon.
Today, you're going to be reading Mosiah chapter 15, verses 1–21. Abinadi is still rolling inside of his testimony of Jesus Christ. And the verse today is actually an answer to a question that started this whole thing.
Back in chapter 12, the priests of King Noah sat down and they gave some scriptures to Abinadi. They were scriptures out of Isaiah, right? And they said, "What do these things mean?" Right?
Like, "What do these scriptures mean?" And then Abinadi started teaching and then he taught yesterday directly from Isaiah as we shared that one. If you haven't listened to that one, you can listen to that one. And then he gets full circle here.
It's taken him for us. It's taken him a couple of chapters to get to the point where he's going to say, "Here's the answer. Here's the answer." And I love this, I love this answer.
So today, verse Mosiah chapter 15, verse 11 is the beginning. There, the full answer is over the next several verses. Let's get into it.
Verse 11, this is what it says. "Behold, I say unto you that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord, I say unto you that all those who have hearkened unto their words and believed that the Lord should redeem his people and have looked forward to that day for remission of their sins, I say unto you that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the kingdom of God." God, I love this! There's like an 'if' in here. If, if, if!
Are you ready to look at this? Behold, I say unto you, whosoever has heard the words of the prophets. All right?
So, hear the prophets speak, right? Read your scriptures, pay attention to General Conference, pay attention to the messages of the prophets, right? Hear them.
All the holy prophets, okay? I say unto you, all those that have hearkened unto their words. So notice he has a difference here between hearing the prophets and hearkening unto their words.
So you're going to process their information, see what it means in your life, and you're going to apply it in your life. Thus, you're going to hearken to the words, right? And then you're going to believe that the Lord even is able to redeem his people, believe that the Lord would redeem his people.
So you're going to hear him, you're going to hearken, you're going to start doing the things. You're going to have a belief that the Lord even has the ability here to redeem his people. And then you're going to look forward to that day of a remission of your sins because you now believe that Jesus Christ has the ability to redeem you from those sins.
These are his seed or they're the heirs of the kingdom of God. This is such a reason to smile. This is a reason to shout from the hilltops.
This is a reason to say, hey, everybody, hear what I'm saying here. I love this answer from Abinadi and I love that he says it directly to the priests of King Noah and says, "Look, folks, the reason you're missing out here is because you haven't done these things." I'd encourage you to dive into this one. The verses around it are so powerful.
I hope you enjoy the reading today and I hope you can feel the energy I'm bringing to this one because I love the opportunity Abinadi gives us here to dig in and see if we too can get on the list to become heirs of the kingdom of God. That's all for today, my friends. Remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.
Keep it small, keep it simple, and always seek to be savory salt. I'll be here tomorrow. I hope you are too.
