Day 30 Nephi's Unstoppable Faith

In Matthew 5.13, Jesus tells his followers that they are the salt of the earth, and in the same sentence offers a warning that savorless salt is good for nothing. Join me in an attempt to be savory salt as I share each day one verse of scripture and one small thought. Perhaps this small daily emphasis can lead to greater savor in your life and ultimately you and I can be savory salt.

Hello, my friends and family, wherever you're listening from. Thank you for joining me and know that I am cheering for your every success. We get to wrap up chapter 17 today in First Nephi.

Welcome to day 30. We're now sitting right on our month. We are 30, 31 days.

That's like a month, right? A month's gone through. Congratulations on your progress here.

Today man I love chapter 17 It just shows Nephi getting to a level of faith that becomes unstoppable It really is Like this is what we going to look at today This is like Nephi I don know Captain America moment This is where he has the unstoppable nature Like he got the serum He has the serum right Like he's got the spirit of God and that is the Captain America serum, right? Like it's going to make him super strong and literally unstoppable. So let's dive straight into the verse today because I am so excited to share it with you.

Real quick, the reading for today is going to come from 1 Nephi 17 verses 36 through 55. So we're basically just going to finish chapter 17 here. What's happened here, we're going to talk about verse 50 and right before verse 50, Nephi has gotten such to the level, there's some awesome verses in here talking about different places that he has found his faith.

So if you're struggling in faith, spend some time in these verses. And then he's gotten to the point where he is so filled with the Spirit, he is untouchable. His brothers can no longer do the beating with the sticks thing.

He is unstoppable with the Spirit. He's going to accomplish the thing the Lord has commanded. And he has so much of the Spirit that he's unstoppable.

And he gets to this stage in verse 50. I love this. Nephi's faith is such that he knows no matter what the Lord commands, Nephi can do it.

It's no longer a question. He doesn't wonder anymore. Go back to the time that he mentions, you know, kind of with Laban and stuff.

And he's like, man, I went forward not knowing the things that I should do. Look at Nephi's own growth here. He's had these times of like, man, I don't know how to do this, but I'm going to try and do it.

And now his faith has blossomed to the point that he's like, if I need to say to this ocean, be earth, because the Lord commanded me to do it, I would do it. And it would be earth, like just like that. That is an awesome level of faith.

And I want you to spend time in these verses. Find that faith. Find those examples that Nephi found and highlight some for you because we can have that level of faith in our lives.

He doesn say the Lord told me to make water earth but he says I know that if the Lord commanded me to do it I could do it and it would be done So today my friends find Nephi faith in your own life Do the things that you prompted to do so that as you continue on your faith journey your faith can become Captain Americanized right So that your faith can become bulletproof unstoppable And no matter what anybody else has to say no matter what anybody else does in your life you can stand firm knowing that you going to be able to do it Knowing that if you are keeping the commandments of God, you are unstoppable. That's all I have for today. Spend some time in these verses and remember that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.
